Here we report synthesis and characterization of high quality samples of the superconducting system Mg1−x Al x B2, with a novel optimized preparation method, in a wide range of Al concentration. All the physical properties of the samples can be tuned continuously with increasing Al content. We have characterized the samples for their structural, morphological and magnetic properties with high resolution XRD, SEM-EDS and susceptibility measurements. We have prepared a large number of Al doped MgB2 in the range 0<x<0.57. All the samples are bulk superconductors and the critical temperature show a smooth and regular behavior as a function of x. Experiments were designed to evaluate whether guanosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (cGMP)-mediated mechanisms contribute to vasodilation via propofol in rat mesenteric resistance arteries. Ring segments were suspended in the myograph system for isometric tension recording, and responses to propofol were tested in the presence and absence of methylene blue (MB), an inhibitor of guanylate cyclase. At concentrations > or = 1 microM, propofol caused concentration-dependent relaxation of vessel rings precontracted with U46619 (a thromboxane analog). The effect was not affected by N-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA; 50 microM). MB (5 microM) reversed propofol-induced vasodilation by 30% (p < 0.001). In contrast, MB has no effect on nifedipine-inhibited vasocontraction. The propofol-induced relaxation was further tested in rings incubated in Ca2+-free solution. U46619-induced contractions were significantly reduced by propofol (40 microM) but not by nifedipine (1 microM). Propofol reduced to a similar degree the contractions obtained to exogenously added calcium chloride in the absence and the presence of MB. Furthermore, propofol (10-100 microM) increased cGMP content in cultured bovine vascular smooth-muscle cells. Soluble guanylate cyclase inhibitors, such as MB and LY83583, attenuated this effect. This investigation suggests that propofol-induced relaxations in small arteries, in addition to inhibition of calcium influx, are mediated by increases of cGMP in the smooth muscle cells.  相似文献

The effects of elevated atmospheric CO2 concentration on soil moisture, N2O fluxes, and biomass production of Phleum pratense were studied in the laboratory. Farmed peat and sandy soil mesocosms sown with P. pratense were fertilized with a commercial fertilizer. In peat soil 10 g N m−2 of commercial fertilizer were added and in sandy soil 15 g N m−2. In both experiments, soil moisture was regulated with deionized water; 18 mesocosms were tended to keep equally moist, and the other 18 were watered with equal amounts of water. Nine mesocosms from both watering treatments were grown under ambient (360 μmol mol−1) CO2 concentration and the remaining nine under doubled (720 μmol mol−1) CO2. N2O efflux was monitored using a closed chamber technique and a gas chromatograph. The elevated supply of CO2 increased production of above- and belowground biomass, soil moisture and N2O fluxes, but decreased the total N content in the aboveground biomass, especially for the sandy soil. In similar water levels, N2O efflux from the sandy soil was the same magnitude as that from the peat soil. In addition to moisture, N availability was the main limiting factor for N2O production, but C availability also seemed to regulate the denitrification activity. In addition to an increase in C availability the increase in the N2O efflux under the raised CO2 concentration also required a simultaneous increase in soil moisture.  相似文献

The field of computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL) is progressing instrumentally and theoretically. Nevertheless, few studies examine the effectiveness and efficiency of CSCL with respect to cognitive, motivational, emotional, and social issues, despite the fact that the role of regulatory processes is critical for the quality of students’ engagement in collaborative learning settings. We review the four earlier lines in developing support in CSCL and show how there has been a lack of work to support individuals in groups to engage in, sustain, and productively regulate their own and the group’s collaborative processes. Our aim is to discuss how our conceptual work in socially shared regulation of learning (SSRL) contributes to effective and efficient CSCL, what tools are presently available, and what the implications of research on these tools are for future tool development.  相似文献

At sites with multiple employers, efficient safety management is essential to ensure safety for both customers and providers. However, implementing effective safety management is challenging, particularly for companies that provide services. Provider companies encounter difficulties managing the safety of service projects for many reasons, including the variety of customers and changes in work environment. Proper preparation and integration of safety into the different project life cycle stages improves safety, but the topic has not received much attention to date. This article discusses the integration of safety considerations into service projects. Material was collected from Finnish manufacturing companies via interviews and a questionnaire. The results show that systematic methods for developing and producing services have not been adopted in the provider companies, but these are often implemented as a result of practical experience. On the other hand, providers and customers both believed that safety is taken into account during different stages of a given service project—safety issues were to some extent taken into account during the tendering and contract stages of a project, and preventive safety measures were commonly implemented during the delivery of services. However, safety performance often was not evaluated after completion of work. For this reason, companies may not have an accurate estimation of each other's safety performance in these types of multi‐employer situations. The results of this study can be used in provider organizations to help systematize safety considerations during service projects and to focus efforts on the most essential points of service project safety management.  相似文献

We report a simple, low-cost and novel method for constructing three-dimensional (3D) microelectrodes in microfluidic system by utilizing low melting point metal alloy. Three-dimensional electrodes have unique properties in application of cell lysis, electro-osmosis, electroporation and dielectrophoresis. The fabrication process involves conventional photolithography and sputtering techniques to fabricate planar electrodes, positioning bismuth (Bi) alloy microspheres at the sidewall of PDMS channel, plasma bonding and low temperature annealing to improve electrical connection between metal microspheres and planar electrodes. Compared to other fabrication methods for 3D electrodes, the presented one does not require rigorous experimental conditions, cumbersome processes and expensive equipments. Numerical analysis on electric field distribution with different electrode configurations was presented to verify the unique field distribution of arc-shaped electrodes. The application of 3D electrode configuration with high-conductive alloy microspheres was confirmed by particle manipulation based on dielectrophoresis. The proposed technique offers alternatives to construct 3D electrodes from 2D electrodes. More importantly, the simplicity of the fabrication process provides easy ways to fabricate electrodes fast with arc-shaped geometry at the sidewall of microchannel.  相似文献

Herbaceous aquatic macrophytes cover extensive areas on the floodplains of the Amazon basin and are an important habitat and input of organic carbon. These communities have large intra- and inter-annual variability, and characterization of this variability is necessary to quantify the role of macrophytes in the ecology and biogeochemistry of the floodplain. A novel approach for mapping the temporal evolution of aquatic vegetation in the Amazon floodplain, which could be adapted to other spatially and temporally changing environments, is presented. Macrophyte cover varied seasonally and inter-annually, ranging between 104 and 198 km2 for the floodplain examined (total area, 984 km2). The observed evolution of plant distribution indicated a spatial and temporal partition of macrophyte communities into short-lived and annual groups. A simulation of macrophyte net primary production (NPP) based on the mapping results indicated that at least 3% of NPP could be attributed to the short-lived communities. The present results suggest that significant changes in the macrophyte's contribution to carbon cycling in the Amazon floodplain could occur as a result of the predicted increase in frequency of drought years for the Amazon system due to climate change.  相似文献

Here we present a reviewed phase diagram of the high-T c superconducting YBa2Cu3O6+ x compound, finely mapped in the strongly underdoped region (0 < x < 0.5), from the pure antiferromagnetic state to the superconducting regime. The Neèl and spin freezing temperatures have been measured by μSR experiments while the hole density per Cu atom in the CuO2 planes has been determined from the resistive T c and from Seebeck coefficients at 290 K. The phase diagram is discussed in comparison to those of La2− x Sr x CuO4 and Y1− x Ca x Ba2Cu3O6 cuprate systems.  相似文献
