A three-dimensional computational finite element procedure for the vibration and dynamic stress analysis of the track link chains of off-road vehicles is presented in this paper. The numerical procedure developed in this investigation integrates classical constrained multibody dynamics methods with finite element capabilities. The nonlinear equations of motion of the three-dimensional tracked vehicle model in which the track link s are considered flexible bodies, are obtained using the floating frame of reference formulation. Three-dimensional contact force models are used to describe the interaction of the track chain links with the vehicle components and the ground. The dynamic equations of motion are first presented in terms of a coupled set of reference and elastic coordinates of the track links. Assuming that the structural flexibility of the track links does not have a significant effect on their overall rigid body motion as well as the vehicle dynamics, a partially linearized set of differential equations of motion of the track links is obtained. The equations associated with the rigid body motion are used to predict the generalized contact, inertia, and constraint forces associated with the deformation degrees of freedom of the track links. These forces are introduced to the track link flexibility equations which are used to calculate the deformations of the links resulting from the vehicle motion. A detailed three-dimensional finite element model of the track link is developed and utilized to predict the natural frequencies and mode shapes. The terms that represent the rigid body inertia, centrifugal and Coriolis forces in the equations of motion associated with the elastic coordinates of the track link are described in detail. A computational procedure for determining the generalized constraint forces associated with the elastic coordinates of the deformable chain links is presented. The finite element model is then used to determine the deformations of the track links resulting from the contact, inertia, and constraint forces. The results of the dynamic stress analysis of the track links are presented and the differences between these results and the results obtained by using the static stress analysis are demonstrated.  相似文献

A new procedure is presented for determining in situ the solar calibration constant, i.e., the Sun-sky radiometer counts for a direct normal solar flux extrapolated to the top of the atmosphere. The method makes use of a modified version of the Langley plot based on the use of an inversion code of column-integrated aerosol size distribution, and it is ordinarily applied to calibrate Prede Sun-sky radiometers. To analyze how such an in situ method can work accurately, the technique has been applied to a five-month dataset obtained from measurements taken in Rome, Italy, by a Prede Sun-sky radiometer from 22 April to 5 November 2001. The precision of the in situ method has been estimated to within 1-2.5%, depending on the wavelength.  相似文献

The hydrolytic depolymerization of molten PET in excess water was studied using a 2 L stirred pressure reactor at temperatures of 250, 265, and 280°C. Rate constants for hydrolysis are calculated from the initial rate data. At initial water: PET charge ratios (w/w) exceeding 5.1, essentially complete depolymerization to monomer is possible at 265°C. At lower water: PET initial charges, an equilibrium is established. The equilibrium constants are calculated for 2 g water/g PET at three temperatures. A kinetic model is proposed to describe the hydrolysis reaction. The model is shown to fit experimental data and to yield good predictions for the equilibrium concentration of carboxyl groups. Carboxyl-group concentrations are measured using an end-group analysis technique. Potentiometric titrations are carried out in one of two solvent systems, dimethylphenol:chloroform or dimethylsulfoxide, depending on the extent of hydrolysis. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Gallbladder surgery by videolaparoscopy (VL) is now able to obtain the same goals as traditional surgery, and is associated with comparable or better results both in terms of positive surgical outcome and patient satisfaction. With public health spending under growing social and administrative pressure, and continuous efforts focusing on enhancing the efficiency of both surgical instruments and operating procedures, it is a most attractive, albeit initially challenging, prospect to regard video-laparoscopic surgery as day-case surgery. Herein, the authors assess the outpatient treatment option, due to recent technical developments and relevant major organizational and professional implications, and consider the feasibility of day-case surgery projects which should soon be implemented. METHODOLOGY: From January 1994 to December 1996, 1,334 patients underwent videolaparoscopic cholecystectomy. Of these, 898 were women and 436 men. In 1,034 of the laparoscopies gas was used and 300 were performed without gas. Out of the total 1,334 patients who were submitted to the videolaparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure with or without the use of gas, 72 (5.4%) were treated on an outpatient basis. RESULTS: In our series, 93.5% of patients reported normal post-operative functions within 24 hours; 90.2% of patients were able to take oral fluid on the same day of the operation and had normal bowel peristalsis within the first post-operative day. CONCLUSIONS: The authors assess the outpatient option treatment, due to recent technical developments and relevant major organizational and professional implications, and consider the feasibility of a day-case surgery project which should soon be implemented.  相似文献

The clustering of acetylcholine receptors (AChR) on skeletal muscle fibers is an early event in the formation of neuromuscular junctions. Recent studies show that laminin as well as agrin can induce AChR clustering. Since the alpha7beta1 integrin is a major laminin receptor in skeletal muscle, we determined if this integrin participates in laminin and/or agrin-induced AChR clustering. The alternative cytoplasmic domain variants, alpha7A and alpha7B, and the extracellular spliced forms, alpha7X1 and alpha7X2, were studied for their ability to engage in AChR clustering. Immunofluorescence microscopy of C2C12 myofibers shows that the alpha7beta1 integrin colocalizes with laminin-induced AChR clusters and to a much lesser extent with agrin-induced AChR clusters. However, together laminin and agrin promote a synergistic response and all AChR colocalize with the integrin. Laminin also induces the physical association of the integrin and AChR. High concentrations of anti-alpha7 antibodies inhibit colocalization of the integrin with AChR clusters as well as the enhanced response promoted by both laminin and agrin. Engaging the integrin with low concentrations of anti-alpha7 antibody initiates cluster formation in the absence of agrin or laminin. Whereas both the alpha7A and alpha7B cytoplasmic domain variants cluster with AChR, only those isoforms containing the alpha7X2 extracellular domain were active. These results demonstrate that the alpha7beta1 integrin has a physiologic role in laminin-induced AChR clustering, that alternative splicing is integral to this function of the alpha7 chain, and that laminin, agrin, and the alpha7beta1 integrin interact in a common or convergent pathway in the formation of neuromuscular junctions.  相似文献

The reaction of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) melts with ethylene glycol was examined in a pressure reactor at temperatures above 245°C. The reaction rate was found to depend on temperature and on the concentrations of liquid ethylene glycol and of ethylene diester groups in the polymer. A kinetic model proposed for the initial period of the reaction was found to be consistent with experimental data. It was found that internal catalysis by ethylene glycol does not play an important role in the glycolytic depolymerization of PET. The rate constants for glycolysis were calculated for three different temperatures, yielding an activation energy of 92 kJ/mol. Zinc salts, which have a catalytic effect on glycolysis of PET below 245°C, do not appear to influence glycolysis rates above that temperature. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Calcium carbonate highly filled composites of a polyolefin plastomer (POP), and its blends with postconsumer linear low‐density or high‐density polyethylene (PC‐LLDPE or PC‐HDPE) were prepared and evaluated. The mechanical properties of compounded POP and its blends were compared with those of a PVC–calcium carbonate formulation used for flooring applications. Tensile and impact properties of calcium carbonate‐filled POP composites compare very favorably to the PVC‐based formulation at filler loadings as high as 200 phr. Moreover, postconsumer LLDPE or HDPE can replace at least 50% of the POP in these composites without affecting their main properties. DSC analyses indicate that the synergism occurring in mechanical properties for some of the blend compositions, may be related to the ability of the individual polymers to cocrystallize in the respective blends. This article presents the results of a preliminary study. Continued research is expected to contribute toward a complete characterization of the compounded POP/postconsumer PE blends to establish if they can replace plasticized PVC compounds in some or all flooring applications. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Several types of 3-dimensional (3D) biological matrices are employed for clinical and surgical applications, but few indications are available to guide surgeons in the choice among these materials. Here we compare the in vitro growth of human primary fibroblasts on different biological matrices commonly used for clinical and surgical applications and the activation of specific molecular pathways over 30 days of growth. Morphological analyses by Scanning Electron Microscopy and proliferation curves showed that fibroblasts have different ability to attach and proliferate on the different biological matrices. They activated similar gene expression programs, reducing the expression of collagen genes and myofibroblast differentiation markers compared to fibroblasts grown in 2D. However, differences among 3D matrices were observed in the expression of specific metalloproteinases and interleukin-6. Indeed, cell proliferation and expression of matrix degrading enzymes occur in the initial steps of interaction between fibroblast and the investigated meshes, whereas collagen and interleukin-6 expression appear to start later. The data reported here highlight features of fibroblasts grown on different 3D biological matrices and warrant further studies to understand how these findings may be used to help the clinicians choose the correct material for specific applications.  相似文献

A viscous traction interfacial viscometer was constructed to study a mineral oil-water-emulsifier system. The effect on interfacial viscosity of the synthetic emulsifiers Span 80 and Pluronic L42 were investigated, along with the bioemulsifier produced by the yeast Torulopsis petrophilum. In the case of the synthetic emulsifiers, it was found that conditions which maximized interfacial viscosity also maximized emulsion stability. The same relation held for T. petrophilum emulsifier once all free fatty acids had been removed from the broth. Emulsion stability was measured by calculating mean diameters, as well as emulsion indices.  相似文献
