In accordance with the lean production philosophy, an assembly line may be supplied by means of a kanban system, which regulates and simplifies the flow of materials between the lines and the warehouses. This paper focuses on evaluation of feeding policies that differ from each other in term of the number of kanbans managed per feeding tour. A pure cost-based approach is thus proposed, which considers both inline inventories along with handling costs proportionate to the number of operators involved in the parts-feeding process. A multi-scenario simulative approach is applied in order to establish the number of operators required to avoid inline shortages. The scenario minimising total cost is then selected. The innovation introduced is a model for describing kanban arrivals and their requests for feeding, improving the potential of the simulation to describe real-life environments. Lastly, a case study from the automotive industry is presented in order to highlight the applicability of the proposed approach as well and the effects of alternative feeding policies on the total cost incurred. 相似文献

This paper focuses on the analysis of the internal flow traceability of goods (products and/or packages) along the supply chain by Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology. Traditionally, the traceability system is performed through the asynchronous fulfilment of checkpoints (i.e. doorways) by materials. In such cases, the tracking is manual, executed by operators that manually trace the path. Often, companies are not aware of the inefficiencies because of these traceability systems such as low precision and accuracy in measurements (i.e. no information between doorways), more time spent by operators and costs (due to the full effort of operators who have to search for the good positions and movements). In order to overcome these limitations, automatic identification procedures have been introduced in many service industries, purchasing and distribution logistics, manufacturing companies and material flow systems. Automatic identification procedures can also be applied to the packaging of products, instead of to each item contained in the package. Sometimes, products are very expensive, and packages contain important and critical goods (e.g. dangerous or explosive materials); thus, the tracking of goods – and packages in particular – is a critical function. In order to analyse the traceability of the packaging system, the authors have developed an innovative system based on Radio Frequency IDentification‐Ultra Wide Band (RFID‐UWB) technology. A prototype of this system has been realized and used for an experimental research that has consisted of several tests (static and dynamic), tracing the position (static) and movements (dynamic) of products and in particular packages in indoor environments, in continuous and in real time. Iron overload is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with thalassaemia major. In order to establish if the presence of the mutations recently described in the haemochromatosis gene affects the severity of iron overload in thalassaemia patients, we compared the prevalence of mutations C282Y and H63D in 216 young adults regularly transfused and chelated in North-Eastern Italy with the frequency found in a group of blood donors from the same area. For each patient, mean serum ferritin over the last 3 years, liver iron concentration, and the presence of diabetes, hypogonadism and heart disease, were considered. The frequency of the C282Y allele was 1.9% in patients with thalassaemia major and 2.3% in blood donors (P=ns). The frequency of the H63D allele was 16.2% in patients with thalassaemia major and 15.3% in blood donors (P=ns). When age, liver iron concentration and mean yearly serum ferritin levels were compared in patients with and without mutations C282Y and H63D, no significant differences were found. Also, the prevalence of iron-induced complications was not significantly different between patients carrying or not carrying the mutations. The presence of the HH mutations does not seem to influence the degree of iron overload and its consequences in regularly transfused and chelated patients with thalassaemia major. 相似文献

Forty-three sporadic gastric cancers were analyzed with regard to whether mutations of simple repeated sequences in the transforming growth factor beta type II receptor (TbetaR-II) gene are associated with microsatellite instability (MSI) and gastric carcinogenesis. In 12 of the 43 cancers (28%), MSI was observed at least at 1 of the 2 microsatellite loci. Frameshift mutations of the TbetaR-II gene, all of which were 1 base deletion of 10 adenine repeats, were detected in 3 of 6 cancers, with MSI at 2 loci. However, mutations were not detected in 6 cancers, with MSI only at 1 locus and 31 cancers without MSI. Moreover, microanalysis in these cases revealed that the mutant-type alleles of TbetaR-II were invariably common in different areas within the tumor, in contrast to the markedly variable alleles of microsatellite loci. Our results suggest that frameshift mutation of the TbetaR-II gene may be a critical event associated with MSI and may contribute to carcinogenesis of the stomach. One of the possible mechanisms of escape from growth control by TGFbeta during gastric carcinogenesis could involve frameshift mutations of the TbetaR-II gene caused by DNA replication errors. 相似文献

Taurine has been shown to exert many biological effects. Among them, the ability of this amino acid to induce a reduction of arterial blood pressure, when administered intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) to mammals, has been established since a long time ago. To gain further information on the structure-activity requirements for taurine's hypotensive effect, the synthesis of 2-methyltaurine (2-aminopropanesulphonic acid) and the asymmetric synthesis of its enantiomers were performed; the enantiomeric purity of (R)- and (S)-2-methyltaurine was assayed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and HPLC. The findings here reported show that the hypotensive effect elicited by the i.c.v. administration of racemate is mainly due to the (S)-enantiomer. The specificity of this effect was proved by the ability of the taurine antagonist TAG (6-aminomethyl-4H-3-methyl-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxide) to prevent it. 相似文献

Many studies have demonstrated a relationship between secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS) and the mechanical behaviour of cast aluminium–silicon alloys, both for tensile and fatigue strength. SDAS is related to the solidification time and can be predicted, with a good approximation, by finite-element simulation. However, other microstructural features can affect the tensile behaviour of cast aluminium alloys such as size and morphology of the eutectic Si particles, grain size, composition and morphology of the intermetallic compounds. The present investigation was aimed at finding valuable relationships between ultimate tensile strength and the previously mentioned microstructural parameters for the sand cast A357 aluminium alloy. The microstructural characterization was carried out by optical microscopy and image analysis on more than about 2500 micrographs. Starting from the microstructural parameters and taking into account the material hardness, a relationship able to predict the ultimate tensile strength of the alloy, with an error less than 5%, was found. This relationship can be used to evaluate the local values of the UTS in complex cast components knowing only the hardness and the microstructural parameters, even in positions where the extraction of tensile specimens is not possible. 相似文献

This article offers a perspective on interactive persuasive systems that emphasizes theories and concepts that can guide their design and evaluation. The goal is not to champion a theoretical model over others or to compare the effectiveness of different persuasive strategies but rather to depict the current conceptual landscape in this field and highlight emerging concepts and positions that have recently appeared in it. The present study aimed at increasing behavioral engagement in groups of networked people by providing feedback on the group
activity. Each participant logged into an on-line virtual environment for four subsequent treasure-hunting sessions along
with other nine players. During the game, all players communicated dyadically through textual chats, and searched for the
treasures in the virtual environment. In two conditions, the participants received a visual feedback depicting the communication
activity with the group based on social network analysis indices (i.e. ‘centrality’ or ‘reciprocity’). Feedback was not provided
in the third condition. The underlying assumption was that if the group activity becomes more visible to the individual user
through the feedback, then the behavioral engagement with the group increases. The resulting behavioral engagement was measured
with two techniques, one based on the amount of messages exchanged and one based on self-reported measures. The results show
that feedback improved the exchange of messages with respect to the control condition and that this effect was only partially
captured by self-reported measures.

The aim of this work was to evaluate the synergy between different lightening agents when associated; depigmenting activity was tested in vitro by monitoring the appearance of dopachrome, an intermediate in the melanogenesis process. The results obtained were compared with the depigmenting activity of each single compound, keeping the same global concentration of inhibitor. Our studies showed that the combination of hydroquinone and kojic acid had a synergistic effect, and that the maximum inhibiting action was achieved with an equimolecular mixture. This result could serve in the cosmetics field to prepare skin-lightening formulations that are less irritant. We also investigated the feasibility of complexing hydroquinone with cyclodextrin and evaluated the effectiveness of the complex obtained in the treatment of hyperpigmentation. 相似文献
