Microwave plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) is a very promising method for industrial scale fabrication of microcrystalline silicon solar cells since the technique is well applicable for large areas, and high deposition rates can be obtained. We have investigated the effect of Ar dilution on the growth process and the material properties of microcrystalline silicon. The major benefit of Ar addition in the MWPECVD process, using H2 and SiH4 as reactant gases, is an improved stabilization of the plasma, in particular at low pressure and MW power. We show, however, that material properties of the microcrystalline silicon layers deteriorate if we partly substitute H2 by Ar during the deposition. The density of the layers - as expressed by the refractive index - decreases, and the defect density (measured by Fourier transform photocurrent spectroscopy) increases with increasing Ar flow. Investigation of the plasma by optical emission study shows that Ar atoms play a very active role in the dissociation processes of H2 and SiH4. Substitution of H2 by Ar decreases the SiH? emission and increases the Si? emission. On the other hand, the Hα/Hβ ratio increases upon substitution of H2 by Ar. The latter effect shows that Ar addition does not lead to higher electron temperatures and we conclude that the changes of SiH? and Si? emissions are due to dissociation of SiH4 by Ar? (quenching reactions). The precise role of Ar in MWPECVD of microcrystalline silicon needs further investigation, but we conclude that the usage of this gas should be minimized in order to maximize the quality of the silicon layers.  相似文献

This paper presents the measurement of colored object reflectance, under different, general assumptions regarding the imaging conditions. We exploit the Gaussian scale-space paradigm for color images to define a framework for the robust measurement of object reflectance from color images. Object reflectance is derived from a physical reflectance model based on the Kubelka-Munk theory for colorant layers. Illumination and geometrical invariant properties are derived from the reflectance model. Invariance and discriminative power of the color invariants is experimentally investigated, showing the invariants to be successful in discounting shadow, illumination, highlights, and noise. Extensive experiments show the different invariants to be highly discriminative, while maintaining invariance properties. The presented framework for color measurement is well-founded in the physics of color as well as in measurement science. This paper presents the semantic pathfinder architecture for generic indexing of multimedia archives. The semantic pathfinder extracts semantic concepts from video by exploring different paths through three consecutive analysis steps, which we derive from the observation that produced video is the result of an authoring-driven process. We exploit this authoring metaphor for machine-driven understanding. The pathfinder starts with the content analysis step. In this analysis step, we follow a data-driven approach of indexing semantics. The style analysis step is the second analysis step. Here, we tackle the indexing problem by viewing a video from the perspective of production. Finally, in the context analysis step, we view semantics in context. The virtue of the semantic pathfinder is its ability to learn the best path of analysis steps on a per-concept basis. To show the generality of this novel indexing approach, we develop detectors for a lexicon of 32 concepts and we evaluate the semantic pathfinder against the 2004 NIST TRECVID video retrieval benchmark, using a news archive of 64 hours. Top ranking performance in the semantic concept detection task indicates the merit of the semantic pathfinder for generic indexing of multimedia archives.  相似文献

This paper presents the online estimation of temporal frequency to simultaneously detect and identify the quasiperiodic motion of an object. We introduce color to increase discriminative power of a reoccurring object and to provide robustness to appearance changes due to illumination changes. Spatial contextual information is incorporated by considering the object motion at different scales. We combined spatiospectral Gaussian filters and a temporal reparameterized Gabor filter to construct the online temporal frequency filter. We demonstrate the online filter to respond faster and decay faster than offline Gabor filters. Further, we show the online filter to be more selective to the tuned frequency than Gabor filters. We contribute to temporal frequency analysis in that we both identify ("what") and detect ("when") the frequency. In color video, we demonstrate the filter to detect and identify the periodicity of natural motion. The velocity of moving gratings is determined in a real world example. We consider periodic and quasiperiodic motion of both stationary and nonstationary objects.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a novel approach to the task of salient object detection. In contrast to previous salient object detectors that are based on a spotlight attention theory, we follow an object-based attention theory and incorporate the notion of an object directly into our saliency measurements. Particularly, we consider proto-objects as units of the analysis, where a proto-object is a connected image region that can be converted into a plausible object or object-part, once a focus of attention reaches it. As the object-based attention theory suggests, we start with segmenting a complex image into proto-objects and then assess saliency for each proto-object. In this paper we propose to adopt a learning-based encoding method for age estimation under unconstrained imaging conditions. A similar approach [Cao et al., 2010] is applied to face recognition in real-life face images. However, the feature vectors are encoded in hard manner i.e. each feature vector is assigned to one code. The face is divided into patches where a code histogram is built for each patch. We derive the decomposition of the anisotropic Gaussian in a one-dimensional (1-D) Gauss filter in the x-direction followed by a 1-D filter in a nonorthogonal direction /spl phi/. So also the anisotropic Gaussian can be decomposed by dimension. This appears to be extremely efficient from a computing perspective. An implementation scheme for normal convolution and for recursive filtering is proposed. Also directed derivative filters are demonstrated. For the recursive implementation, filtering an 512 /spl times/ 512 image is performed within 40 msec on a current state of the art PC, gaining over 3 times in performance for a typical filter, independent of the standard deviations and orientation of the filter. Accuracy of the filters is still reasonable when compared to truncation error or recursive approximation error. The anisotropic Gaussian filtering method allows fast calculation of edge and ridge maps, with high spatial and angular accuracy. For tracking applications, the normal anisotropic convolution scheme is more advantageous, with applications in the detection of dashed lines in engineering drawings. The recursive implementation is more attractive in feature detection applications, for instance in affine invariant edge and ridge detection in computer vision. The proposed computational filtering method enables the practical applicability of orientation scale-space analysis.  相似文献

The extraction and interpretation of networks of lines from images yields important organizational information of the network under consideration. In this paper, a one-parameter algorithm for the extraction of line networks from images is presented. The parameter indicates the extracted saliency level from a hierarchical graph. Input for the algorithm is the domain specific knowledge of interconnection points. Graph morphological tools are used to extract the minimum cost graph which best segments the network.We give an extensive error analysis for the general case of line extraction. Our method is shown to be robust against gaps in lines, and against spurious vertices at lines, which we consider as the most prominent source of error in line detection. The method indicates detection confidence, thereby supporting error proof interpretation of the network functionality. The method is demonstrated to be applicable on a broad variety of line networks, including dashed lines. Hence, the proposed method yields a major step towards general line tracking algorithms.  相似文献
