Optimizing energy consumption in cloud computing is yet a challenge despite the diversity of the proposed energy management strategies. Indeed, and during our related work study we have observed that the different elements or components which should be considered in order to be able to properly manage energy consumption in a cloud computing context are not well defined and/or discussed in terms of importance. This makes the proper classification and/or comparison of the different proposed strategies or techniques very difficult. Consequently, this paper aims, on the one hand, at defining and discussing properly such components in order to create a guideline and, on the other hand, to ease both the classification and the comparison of these proposed strategies and techniques. Second and after discussing some common weaknesses related to the current energy consumption optimization techniques and methods, this paper proposes energy-saving technique which uses a novel load detecting policy. This policy is based on the median absolute deviation method which uses the median and the standard deviation to calculate upper and lower thresholds which aim to classify hosts into either overloaded or under-loaded state. Simulation results have shown better results of the proposed technique compared to the existing ones especially in reducing energy consumption and the number of virtual machine migrations in addition to better active host time. Indeed, we found that the average of saved energy is around 40% compared to the built in techniques in cloudSim.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of Ba1?xCaxTi0.975(Nb0.5Yb0.5)0.025O3 (where x = 0.15, 0.2 and 0.3, abbreviated as BCTYN) were prepared by the conventional solid state reaction method. The effect of calcium (Ca) substitution in BaTi0.975(Nb0.5Yb0.5)0.025O3 (abbreviated as BTYN25) on the structural, dielectric, piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties and electro-caloric effects (ECE) was investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results at room temperature showed that the BCTYN samples in the composition x < 0.3 exhibited a pure tetragonal perovskite structure. Dielectric measurements showed a classical ferroelectric behavior for all samples. With the increase of the Ca content, the Curie temperature (TC) was still maintained with a small shift towards low temperature. The evolution of the Raman spectra was studied as a function of compositions and temperatures. The Raman bands confirmed the structure and the phase transition of the BCTYN ceramics. By adding Ca, the piezoelectric properties and the remanent polarization (Pr) are relatively maintained for the compositions x = 0.15 and x = 0.2. A piezoelectric coefficient of d33 = 130 pC/N and a planar electromechanical coupling factor of kp = 28% were obtained for these compositions. Two different methods were used to calculate the electro-caloric coefficients of the BCTYN ceramics. The incorporation of Ca was found to enhance the electro-caloric strength (ξ = ΔTE) within a broad temperature range with a best value of ξ = 0.2?Kmm/kV for x = 0.2.  相似文献

Polycrystalline samples of BaTi1?x (Mn0.5Nb0.5) x O3 with x = 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1, 0.125, 0.15, and 0.175 have been synthesized by the high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. The effects of cationic substitution of manganese and niobium for titanium at B sites of the BaTiO3 perovskite lattice on symmetry and dielectric properties were investigated. X-ray diffraction at room temperature and dielectric permittivity in the temperature range from 85 K to 500 K and frequency range from 100 Hz to 2 × 105 Hz were studied. The evolution from a normal ferroelectric to a relaxor ferroelectric is emphasized. T C or T m decreases when both manganese and niobium are introduced into the lattice of BaTiO3. High dielectric constant of around 9000 at T C = 280 K was found for Ba Ti0.925(Mn0.5Nb0.5)0.075O3 ceramic. A relaxor ferroelectric with ΔT m = 60 K and $ \varepsilon_{\rm{r}}^{\prime } $ of about 3500 at 10 kHz with T m = 150 K was found for the BaTi0.85(Mn0.5Nb0.5)0.15O3 sample.  相似文献

The co‐kneader is a proper tool for processing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounds. Gelation of PVC is complex because of a narrow processing window. At low temperature, gelation is incomplete and leads to poor mechanical properties, while at high temperature, degradation may occur. The aim of this study is to gain a fundamental understanding of the gelation process of PVC in co‐kneaders. Careful examination of the gelation state of extruded PVC samples was carried out qualitatively by swelling the extruded samples in acetone and quantitatively by differential scanning calorimetry measurements. Gelation in various conditions of temperature and shear was firstly studied in a capillary device that ensures both pre‐shearing and extrusion through a circular die. This provided a reference basis for comparison with gelation state obtained in the co‐kneader. Samples were collected in the co‐kneader by means of opening the barrel. The gelation state was particularly examined in connection with the measured temperature at a fixed position along the screw at which a temperature sensor was positioned. The obtained results showed that the co‐kneader allows fast gelation with a mixing energy value lower than 200 kJ/kg when the temperature is higher than a critical value of 165°C for the studied formulation. New microfiltration membranes from mineral coal fly-ash material are obtained using ceramic method. Paste from mineral coal fly ash (obtained by calcinations at 800 °C of non-grinded mineral coal) is extruded to elaborate a porous tubular configuration used as supports. The support heated at 1125 °C, shows an average pore diameter and porosity of about 4.5 μm and 51%, respectively. The properties in terms of mechanical and corrosion resistances are very interesting. The elaboration of the layer based on fly-ash powder (obtained by sintering at 700 °C of a finely grinded mineral coal) is performed by slip-casting method. The heating treatment at 800 °C leads to an average pore size of 0.25 μm. The water permeability determined of this membrane is 475 L/h m2 bar. This membrane can be used for crossflow microfiltration. The application to the treatment of the dying effluents generated by the washing baths in the textile industry shows an important decrease of turbidity (inferior to 1 NTU), of chemical oxygen demand (COD) values (retention rate of about 75%) and a total color removal. The performances in term of permeate flux and efficiency were determined and compared to those obtained using a commercial alumina microfiltration membrane. Almost the same stabilised permeate flux was obtained (about 100 L h−1 m−2). So, it seems that the prepared membrane is suitable for such wastewater treatment.  相似文献

Bismuth-doped barium–strontium–titanate ceramics of the formula (Ba0.8Sr0.2)(1−1.5y)BiyTiO3 were prepared using a conventional solid-state reaction method. The structure, dielectric properties, and ferroelectric relaxor behaviour of all compositions were thoroughly investigated. The findings revealed a broad dielectric anomaly and a shift in dielectric maxima towards higher temperatures with increasing frequency. The diffuseness degree indicator γ was about 1.68, and dielectric relaxation was noted to follow the Vogel–Fulcher relationship, with Tf=185 K, f0=1.18×1010 Hz, and Ea=0.35 eV, which further supported the spin-glass-like properties of BBSTs. The latter were also noted to display significant ferroelectric relaxor behaviour that could be attributed to the presence of Bi3+ doping ions. The degree of relaxation behaviour was noted to increase with the increase in bismuth concentration. Raman spectra were investigated as a function of temperature, and the findings confirmed the results from X-ray and dielectric measurements. Among the compositions assayed in this solid solution, 10% Bi-doped Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3 yielded promising relaxor properties that make it a strong candidate for future industrial application in the production of efficient and eco-friendly relaxor ferroelectric materials.  相似文献
