Reduction of flash generated in a gas vent is of great concern for manufacturers of electronic parts. The present study proposes a theoretical model for flash generation through consideration of flow characteristics in a gas vent. The model predicts the factors controlling flash, i.e., material parameters such as zero‐shear viscosity, crystallization temperature, thermal conductivity, and heat capacity, and process parameters such as injection and mold wall temperatures, packing pressure, and the clearance of a gas vent. On the other hand, we measure the amount of flash generated in the molding of poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) composites containing glass fiber and spherical fillers (CaCO3 or Al2O3). Flash reduces with decreasing size of spherical fillers. These experimental data are successfully interpreted using the flash model. Polym. Eng. The effect of CF4 plasma etching on diamond surfaces, with respect to treatment time, was investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and electrochemical measurements. SEM observations and Raman spectra indicated an increase in surface roughening on a scale of 10–20 nm, and an increase in crystal defect density was apparent with treatment time in the range of 10 s to 30 min. In contrast, alteration of the diamond surface terminations from oxygen to fluorine was found to be rather rapid, with saturation of the F/C atomic ratio estimated from XPS analysis after treatment durations of 1 min and more. The redox kinetics of Fe(CN)63−/4− was also found to be significantly modified after 10 s of CF4 plasma treatment. This behavior shows that C–F terminations predominantly affect the redox kinetics compared to the effect on the surface roughness and crystal defects. The double-layer capacitance (Cdl) of the electrolyte/CF4 plasma-treated boron-doped diamond interface was found to show a minimum value at 1 min of treatment. These results indicate that a short-duration CF4 plasma treatment is effective for the fabrication of fluorine-terminated diamond surfaces without undesirable surface damage. 相似文献

The effects of carbon-fiber chips and carbon brushes as additives on the thermal conductivity enhancement of phase change materials (PCMs) using in latent heat thermal energy storage are investigated experimentally and numerically by considering the wall effect of the additives. The carbon-fiber chips are effective for improving the heat transfer rate in PCMs. However, the thermal resistance near the heat transfer surface is higher than that for the carbon brushes. As a result, the overall heat transfer rate for the fiber chips is lower than that for the carbon brushes. Consequently, the carbon brushes are superior to the fiber chips for the thermal conductivity enhancement under the present experimental conditions. The carbon brushes are moreover applied to the packed beds of particles to overcome their low thermal conductivity in chemical heat pump/storage. The carbon brushes essentially improve the heat transfer characteristics in the packed beds, though the thermal resistance is observed because the particles obstruct contact between the fibers and the heat transfer surfaces. 相似文献

A new frequency divider, called differential injection locking, is proposed. The proposed divider has no transistor stacking to suppress the performance degradation due to supply voltage reduction. Pentisomide, 2-(2-diisopropylaminoethyl)-4-methyl-2-(pyridyl)- pentanamide, is a novel antiarrhythmic agent structurally related to disopyramide. Using a glass bead arrhythmic model, the authors studied the antiarrhythmic effect of pentisomide in dogs by monitoring the plasma concentrations. When pentisomide was infused at 1 mg/kg/min for 20 min, the ventricular tachycardia was significantly reduced at 5 min after starting the infusion; the arrhythmias were reduced to less than 5% at the end of the 20 min infusion. The plasma-free concentration of pentisomide was about 3 micrograms/ml at 5 min; it increased to about 10 micrograms/ml at the end of 20 min infusion. With 0.3 mg/kg/min infusion, the arrhythmias were reduced to about 60% but were not significant at 20 min of infusion. The plasma-free concentration of pentisomide did not reach 3 micrograms/ml until 20 min of infusion. The 3 micrograms/ml plasma-free concentration for pentisomide seems to be a critical concentration in inducing a significant antiarrhythmic effect. Pentisomide dose-dependently inhibited ischaemia-reperfusion arrhythmia at doses of 30 microM and higher concentrations in vitro. In conclusion, pentisomide inhibits arrhythmias dependent with the plasma concentration or with the concentration of the external solution. The critical plasma-free concentration for inhibition of arrhythmias was 3 micrograms/ml (not equal to 10 microM) and the in vitro effect also had a similar concentration. The endoscopic ultrasonography (US) characteristics of early scirrhous carcinoma of the stomach (ESS) were evaluated in four patients. ESS was defined as the presence of poorly differentiated carcinoma cells spreading through the submucosa and muscularis propria in association with a marked desmoplastic reaction without serosal invasion. ESS was characterized by localized irregular hypoechoic enlargement of the third (submucosal) and the fourth (muscularis propria) layers. The fifth (serosal) layer was normal. The third and fourth layers showed a threefold increase in thickness compared with the thickness of these layers in healthy subjects. Electrochemical characteristics for several redox systems at diamond films with highly ordered nanometer-scale cylindrical pores (‘nano-honeycombs’) were examined with cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance measurements. The cyclic voltammetric anodic-cathodic peak separations for these nano-honeycomb electrodes were in the same range as those for polished polycrystalline diamond films, indicating that the involvement of the oxygen-terminated surface of the nano-pore walls, which should give rise to large peak separations for certain redox couples was only slight. Moreover, the peak currents in the CV were not enhanced to the extent expected on the basis of the roughness factors of the nano-honeycomb films. Ac impedance plots results indicated the existence of a concentration gradient of the reactant in the nano-pores, which is in agreement with theoretical predictions for charge transfer reactions in porous electrodes. The average concentration of the reactant (Fe2+/3+) inside the nano-pores was a factor of ca. 80 lower than that in the bulk electrolyte. The results of the impedance analysis also indicated an increase in the reaction resistances with decreasing pore diameters. 相似文献

Several onium cations having vinyl group formed ionic liquids after coupling with bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide. These monomers were polymerized, and the relation between onium cation structure and properties of thus polymerized ionic liquids was investigated. The polymerized ionic liquid having ethylimiadzolium cation unit showed the highest ionic conductivity of around 10−4 S cm−1 at 30 °C among the obtained polymers reflecting the lowest glass transition temperature of −59 °C. These polymers were thermally stable and their decomposition temperatures were about 350 °C. The ionic conductivity of the polymerized ionic liquids decreased by both the addition of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and the polymerization in the presence of cross-linker. However, the polymerized ionic liquid having 1-methylpiperidinium cation structure showed good lithium ion transference number of 0.43 at room temperature. 相似文献

2-Dibutylamino-1,3,5-triazine-4,6-dithiol (DB) and a mixture of DB and triallylisocyanurate (TAIC) were used as a lubricant during steel wire drawing due to a dry process. DB gave a polymer film with 180 nm in thickness to wire surfaces during the wire drawing. The polymer film had a disulfide structure on the backbone and contained a small amount of DB monomer and olygomer. Molecular weight and polymer weight increased with the drawing rate. The mixture of DB and TAIC gave mainly a three-dimensional polymer film with 225 nm in thickness to wire surfaces during drawing. The polymer film insoluble in THF had mono and disulfide structures and contained a small amount of linear polymer, DB, and TAIC. Such tribological polymerizations are estimated as follows: DB produces dithiyl radicals on a nascent surface formed during drawing and in the presence of oxygen and heat. The dithiyl radicals were polymerized by coupling with each other to give disulfide bonds or added to allyl groups in TAIC to give monosulfide bonds.
