Abstract: Phenolics, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and tannins of pomegranate juices, obtained from 9 Tunisian ecotypes were quantified. Phenolics and flavonoids in the variety Tounsi (TN) (3299 mg gallic acid equivalents [GAE]/L and 636 mg quercetin equivalents [QE]/L of juice, respectively) were higher than in the variety Gabsi (GB) (1570 mg GAE/L and 135 mg QE/L of juice, respectively). The highest anthocyanins quantity was found in GB 2 with 156 mg cyanidin‐3‐glucoside equivalents (CGE)/L. TN 3 ecotype showed the highest tannins quantity with 2550 mg catechin equivalents (CE)/L of juice. TN 1 presented the highest radical‐scavenging activity (2, 2′‐azinobis‐3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulphonate [ABTS], IC50 [50% inhibition concentration] = 525 mg/L), as well as the highest concentration of micronutrient cations (potassium and sodium). A high correlation (R2= 0.80) between antioxidant capacity and proanthocyanin contents was found, this suggests that proanthocyanins are the principal contributor in the antioxidant capacity of pomegranate. Our data suggest also that the high concentrations of K+ and Na+ may play a role in the adaptation of pomegranate to arid environments.  相似文献

Abstract: GC‐FID and GC‐MS analysis of essential oil from oregano leaves (Origanum compactum) resulted in the identification of 46 compounds, representing more than 98% of the total composition. Carvacrol was the predominant compound (36.46%), followed by thymol (29.74%) and p‐cymene (24.31%). Serial extractions with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, ethanol, and water were performed on aerials parts of Origanum compactum. In these extracts, different chemical families were characterized: polyphenols (gallic acid equivalent 21.2 to 858.3 g/kg), tannins (catechin equivalent 12.4 to 510.3 g/kg), anthocyanins (cyanidin equivalent 0.38 to 5.63 mg/kg), and flavonoids (quercetin equivalent 14.5 to 54.7 g/kg). The samples (essential oil and extracts) were subjected to a screening for antioxidant (DPPH and ABTS assays) and antimalarial activities and against human breast cancer cells. The essential oil showed a higher antioxidant activity with an IC50= 2 ± 0.1 mg/L. Among the extracts, the aqueous extract had the highest antioxidant activity with an IC50= 4.8 ± 0.2 mg/L (DPPH assay). Concerning antimalarial activity, Origanum compactum essential oil and ethyl acetate extract showed the best results with an IC50 of 34 and 33 mg/mL, respectively. In addition, ethyl acetate extract (30 mg/L) and ethanol extract (56 mg/L) showed activity against human breast cancer cells (MCF7). The oregano essential oil was considered to be nontoxic.  相似文献

Robust wireless location over fading channels   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
This paper develops an estimation algorithm for the time and amplitude of arrival of a known transmitted sequence over a single-path fading channel. The algorithm is optimized to enhance robustness to fast channel fading and low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions, which are common in wireless location applications. The paper also presents a noise and fading bias correction technique for amplitude of arrival estimation that improves the estimation accuracy significantly. The proposed algorithm is then applied to the case of code-division multiple-access (CDMA) wireless location finding for which the paper gives simulation results that demonstrate significant estimation accuracy improvement over known algorithms.  相似文献

Six essential oils (EOs), Juniperus phoenicea (leaves and berries), Thymus capitatus, Lauris nobilis, Melaleuca armillaris, and Eucalyptus gracilis, were screened for their antioxidant and antihypertensive activity as well as their chemical compositions. We identified and quantified 24 compounds (representing 99.8% of total oil) for J. phoenicea leaves, 14 compounds (representing 98.8% of total oil) for J. phoenicea berries, 11 compounds (representing 99.6% of total oil) for T. capitatus, 32 compounds (representing 98.9% of total oil) for L. nobilis, 32 compounds (representing 98.7% of total oil) for M. armillaris, and 26 compounds (representing 99.3% of total oil) for E. gracilis. In the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay, the antioxidant activity was in the range of 0.59 to 2183.6 mg/L, whereas T. capitatus (1.24 ± 0.05 mg/L) gave the best activity in the 2,2'-azinobis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate assay. Antihypertensive activity was evaluated by testing the vasorelaxing capacity of EOs on rat aorta precontracted by phenylephrine (10(-6) M). T. capitatus and L. nobilis were most active for an antihypertensive activity (29 ± 3 and 59 ± 2 mg/L, respectively). Correlations between chemical composition or antioxidant activity and/or antihypertensive activity were studied. Significant correlation has been found for antihypertensive activity and p-cymene (R(2) = 0.86), β-elemene (R(2) = 0.90), and β-myrcene (R(2) = 0.76). A good correlation has been found between antihypertensive activity and antioxidant activity by DPPH assay (R(2) = 0.98). Antioxidant activity can contribute to the prevention of the increase of the blood pressure. According to the literature, no study has been reported until now of correlation between antihypertensive activity and antioxidant activity. Natural EOs can find its interest and application in a medicinal area.  相似文献

ABSTRACT:  GC-FID and GC-MS analysis of essential oils of  Juniperus phoenicea  resulted in the identification of 30 compounds, representing more than 98% of the total composition. α-pinene (55.7% and 80.7%), δ-3-carene (10.7% and 4.5%), and γ-cadinene (2.9% and 5.1%) were the main components, respectively, in leaves and berries essential oil. Extracts of  J. phoenicea  were obtained by different extraction solvents: methanol, ethanol, ethyl acetate, and dichloromethane and evaluated composition for polyphenols (gallic acid equivalent 52 to 217 g/kg), tannins (catechin equivalent 6.5 to 60.2 g/kg), antocyanins (cyanidin equivalent 84 to 373 mg/kg), and flavonoids (quercetin equivalent 6.4 to 29.3 g/kg). The samples (essential oils and extracts) were subjected to a screening for their antioxidant activity by using DPPH and ABTS assays; antimicrobial activity was tested with 6 bacteria (3 Gram-positive and 3 Gram-negative), 1 yeast, and 2 fungi. The strongest antioxidant activity was obtained by the methanolic extract ( IC 50= 6.5 ± 0.3 mg/L). Flavonoids are likely to contribute to the antifungal activity against  Saccharomyces cerevisiae.  Correlations were studied between chemical composition and antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.  相似文献

The performance of a DS/CDMA system using M-ary orthogonal modulation with noncoherent demodulation is evaluated. The system operates in a multipath fading channel. A RAKE receiver structure with equal gain combining is used for demodulation. An approximation to the bit error probability is given which depends only on the first- and second-order moments of the multipath energies. The analysis results are compared with the results from computer simulations. It is seen that the approximation is accurate for multipath energies with realistic coefficient of variation. The system performance is also evaluated in terms of the capacity, which is defined as the number of users that can be supported at a given bit error probability. The approximation is used to evaluate the capacity reductions due to power variations caused by multipath fading  相似文献

Brassica tournefortii is an annual herbaceous plant, native to the North Africa and Middle East. It is considered as an excellent medicinal plant due to its richness by antioxidant like isothiocyanates and polyphenols. The present study is the first phytochemical investigation on Brassica tournefortii organs (leaves, stems, and roots) in terms of nutraceutical, chemical composition, and bioactivity. Brassica tournefortii leaves exhibited the highest values of nutraceutical contents. Interestingly, gas chromatograph-y-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis enabled to identify three new isothiocyanates: iberverin nitrile and iberin detected only in roots, and iberin nitrile detected in all organs. HPLC chromatograms displayed different profiles depending on organic solvent and extracted organ. Icariin and 5,7-dihydroxy 4-propylcoumarin showed the highest concentrations with 2.3 and 1.3 mg/g of dr among other molecules identified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Some phenolic compounds were identified in more than one organ extracts such as phenoxodiol and 4-hydroxy-3-propylbenzoic acid methyl ester. Brassica tournefortii extracts showed a moderate total phenolic contents and anti-15-LOX activity, while they exhibited a good anti-α-glucosidase activity ranging from 40% to 60%. Furthermore, leaves-MeOH and root-dichloromethane (DCM) extracts induced the highest cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cell lines, while roots-cyclohexane (CYHA) extract highlighted the highest inhibition activity against, both, HCT-116 and OVCAR cell lines.  相似文献

Synthetic colours used in cosmetics are a point of concern, and biotechnology has, to a certain extent, helped to resolve this problem. The present study aimed to integrate dyes from a natural extract, the black ink of cuttlefish Sepia officinalis, after purification, in black eye make‐up products (mascara and eyeshadow). Analyses showed differences in the chemical composition of treated and untreated forms of sepia black ink. Indeed, remarkable reductions in total mineral load, water content and proteins (79.3, 58.22 and 44% respectively) were noted. Treated sepia black ink had a low content of analytes. Very satisfactory results were obtained in terms of the level of aspect, texture, colour and covering capacity of the formulated cosmetic products. Moreover, the addition of S. officinalis black ink to iron oxide and black bone dyes improved the level of colour, spread and covering capacity of mascara and eyeshadow.  相似文献
