ABSTRACT

The high-pressure sliding (HPS) process was applied for grain refinement of a pipe form of an Al-3wt%Mg-0.2wt%Sc alloy by developing two types of straining techniques (called in this study anvil sliding and mandrel sliding). To achieve a homogeneous microstructure throughout the cross-section of the pipe, the sample is rotated around the longitudinal axis every after sliding operation by introducing multi-pass technique, named multi-pass HPS (MP-HPS) as developed earlier for rods. The MP-HPS-processed sample shows ultrafine-grained structures with an average grain size of ~260 and ~300?nm after the HPS processing using anvil sliding and mandrel sliding. The samples also exhibit superplasticity with total elongations well more than 400%, respectively. A finite-element method is used to simulate the evolution of strain in the HPS processing and demonstrates that the simulation well represents the experimental results.  相似文献

Micro-tensile tests were performed on high-pressure-torsion-processed specimens of type 304 steel with grain sizes in the range of 0.1–0.5 μm to clarify the effect of ultrafine grain refinement on the hydrogen embrittlement (HE) of metastable austenitic steel. The ultrafine-grained (UFG) specimens with average grain sizes < ~0.4 μm exhibited a limited uniform elongation followed by a steady-stress regime in the stress–strain curves, which was attributed to a martensitic transformation. A high yield stress and a moderate elongation to failure were attained for the UFG specimens with an average grain size of ~0.5 μm in the uncharged state. Hall–Petch relationships well hold between the yield stress and the average grain size for each uncharged and hydrogen-charged specimen. Hydrogen charging increased the friction stress by 40% but did not change the Hall–Petch coefficient. Hydrogen-induced ductility loss was mitigated by ultrafine grain refinement. Ductility loss due to hydrogen charging manifested in the local deformation after a martensitic transformation. This indicates that hydrogen does not significantly affect the martensitic transformation, but shortens the subsequent local deformation process.  相似文献

This study was conducted to clarify the effects of grain boundaries and precipitates on room-temperature hydrogen transport in two types of austenitic stainless steels with ultrafine-grained structures produced by high-pressure torsion (HPT) and subsequent annealing. The grains in the Fe-25Ni-15Cr (in mass%) alloy containing Ti and the Fe-25Cr-20Ni alloy were refined by the HPT-processing to ∼150 and ∼85 nm, respectively. The high-temperature annealing after the HPT processing led to the precipitation of η-Ni3Ti for the former and σ-FeCr for the latter. In the HPT-processed specimens, hydrogen diffusivity was enhanced through short-circuit diffusion because of the increased population of grain boundaries in comparison with the increased opportunity of hydrogen trapping on dislocations. As for the post-HPT-annealed specimens having the precipitates, the hydrogen diffusion was hindered by the hydrogen trapping on η-Ni3Ti precipitates, but was not affected by σ-FeCr precipitation. This depends on the affinity between hydrogen and constituting elements.  相似文献

Samples of an Al-1% Mg solid solution alloy were processed by equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) at room temperature for totals of 1-12 passes and the microstructures of the processed samples were examined using orientation imaging microscopy. The results demonstrate the alloy achieves a reasonably stable microstructure after 6 passes through the ECAP die with an ultimate equilibrium grain size of ∼700 nm. Measurements show both the fraction of high-angle boundaries and the average boundary misorientation increase with increasing numbers of passes up to 6 passes but thereafter there is only a minor additional increase up to 12 passes.  相似文献

The effect of high-pressure torsion (HPT) and annealing on hydrogen embrittlement (HE) of a type 304 stainless steel was studied by metallographic characterization and tensile test after hydrogen gas charging. A volume fraction of ~78 pct of the austenite transformed to α′ martensite by the HPT processing at an equivalent strain of ~30. Annealing the HPT-processed specimen at a temperature of 873 K (600 °C) for 0.5 hours decreased the α′ martensite to ~31 pct with the average grain size reduced to ~0.43 μm through the reverse austenitic transformation. Hydrogen charge into the HPT-processed and the HPT+annealed specimens in the hydrogen content of ~10 to 20 ppm led to no severe HE but appeared in the solution-treated specimen. Especially the 873 K (600 °C) annealed specimen had the ~1.4 GPa tensile strength and the ~50 pct reduction of area (RA) despite the hydrogenation.  相似文献

This study addresses a hydrogen effect on the tensile properties of a type 310S austenitic stainless steel with ultrafine-grained structures produced by high-pressure torsion (HPT) and subsequent annealing. The mean grain size was reduced to ~85 nm by the HPT processing. The grain size was increased by the post-HPT annealing, but the grain size of ~265 nm was retained after annealing at 1023 K (750 °C). The tensile strength of ~1.2 GPa, which is approximately twice as much as that of the solution-treated specimen, was attained in the 1023 K (750 °C) post-HPT-annealed specimen. The elongation to failure was restored up to ~15 pct by the post-HPT annealing, although it was still insufficient in comparison with the ~55 pct elongation of the solution-treated specimen. There was no change in the tensile strength of the HPT-processed specimens and the post-HPT-annealed specimens by hydrogen charging with the hydrogen content in the range of ~20 to 40 mass ppm. The HPT-processed and the 773 K (500 °C) post-HPT-annealed specimens exhibited a ductility loss through the fully shear type fracture. The hydrogen charge into higher temperature post-HPT-annealed specimens with σ-FeCr precipitates led to a mild hydrogen embrittlement.  相似文献

Twenty‐four samples of Apis mellifera honey and twenty‐four samples of Melipona subnitida (Jandaira) honey were collected in the northeast of Brazil. Moisture, hydroxymethylfurfural, free acidity, insoluble solids in water, diastase activity, ashes, electrical conductivity, proteins, lipids, total carbohydrates, energy and sugars were the parameters analysed. The efficiency of the qualitative tests (Fiehe's test, Lugol's reaction, Lund's reaction) was tested. Pollen types and the corresponding plant species were identified in all samples (3 in Apis and 1 in Melipona). Apis mellifera honey samples demonstrated parameters in accordance with the Brazilian Legislation, while the Melipona subnitida honey samples displayed moisture (24.80%) and diastase activity (null) in discordance with the established by the regulation for Apis mellifera honeys. Apis honey samples presented higher values of electric conductivity (284.00 μS cm?1) than the obtained from the Jandaira honey samples (102.77 μS cm?1) as well as a darker colour (26.67 mmPfund) when compared with Jandaira honey (7.00 mmPfund). The concentration of the glucose, fructose and sucrose was higher in the Apis honeys than in the Jandaira honey. The characteristics of the two types of honey were very different, highlighting the need of developing specific legislation for stingless bees' honey.  相似文献

This study was conducted to elucidate the effects of annealing and hydrogenation on the tensile properties of an Fe–0.01 mass% C alloy processed by high-pressure torsion (HPT). By HPT processing, the tensile strength was increased to ∼1500 MPa through grain refinement. Low-temperature annealing further strengthened the HPT-processed specimen because of a simultaneous effect of carbide precipitation and grain refinement. Reduction in the dislocation density and the fraction of low-angle grain boundaries through warm-temperature annealing led to a decrease in hydrogen uptake when the specimens were exposed to high-pressure gaseous hydrogen, and they became less sensitive to hydrogen embrittlement (HE).  相似文献

Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thin films were fabricated on glass substrates by direct current magnetron reactive sputtering. We found out that the crystalline quality of the YSZ film was improved by an oxidation process of the metallic target surface prior to the sputtering deposition process. It is speculated that, at the initial stage of the sputtering, the sputtered particles from the oxidized target surface form a layer with higher degree of crystallization on the substrate, compared with those particles from the metallic target surface. This crystallized layer can enhance the crystallization of the film deposited subsequently. Other sputtering conditions such as sputtering pressure, oxygen flow rate, substrate temperature, and Y2O3 content in the film were investigated, for optimization of the crystalline quality of the deposited YSZ film.  相似文献
