Laboratory-scale and parametric experiments of SO2 and NOx removal from the simulated combustion gas by pulsed corona discharge have been performed by changing the combustion gas composition and temperature, the electrode configuration of plasma reactor, and the polarity of high-voltage electrode. The following results are obtained: 1) the higher the concentration of H2O and O2, the higher the efficiency of desulfurization and denitrification at the same specific input; 2) the pulsed corona discharge with a voltage pulsewidth as short as 200 ns of negative polarity shows the possibility to attain almost 90 percent deSOx and deNOx efficiency at the specific discharge input of 20 J/g, which is almost the same as the specific input in the electron-beam process; 3) the deNOx characteristics show a little temperature dependence in the range of 70 to 130°C, but the deSOx efficiency increases rapidly in the temperature region below 100°C suggesting the thermochemical dependence of deSOx reaction; 4) when desulfurization and denitrification proceed, the white dendritic powder deposits on the plasma reactor whose composition is identified to be 49 mol% (NH4)2SO4 and 47 mol% of 2NH4NO3 · (NH4)2SO4, and the ratio of SO2, NO and NH3 of the deposit is almost equal to that of supplied gas.  相似文献

Bioactive glass-ceramics toughened by tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (TZP) were prepared by hot-pressing mixed powders of the MgO-CaO-P2O5-SiO2 glass and TZP containing 20 to 80% alumina. The bending strength and the fracture toughness of the composite materials were improved compared with those of the material without TZP. These composites showed high bending strengths (400 to 500MPa) and high fracture toughness ( 2.8MPa m1/2). The existence of a crack deflection mechanism was observed by scanning electron microscopy. After soaking in simulated physiological solution at 100 °C, no phase transformation from tetragonal to monoclinic of TZP in the composites and no degradation in bending strength occurred.  相似文献

High-strength calcium metaphosphate fibers for biomedical applications are extracted from crystallized products of calcium ultraphosphate glasses by aqueous leaching. In the present work, new types of porous ceramics with a skeleton composed of the crystalline fibers are prepared by heating the fibrous products extracted. The fibers in the ceramic are interlinked to each other by glassy phases formed during the heating. This porous material has a large porosity of >60%. The surface of the skeleton can be successfully converted into new calcium phosphate phases such as apatite by heating the porous material treated with a molten salt mixture of CaCl2-Ca(NO3)2.  相似文献

The block copolymers consisting of 2,7-dimethoxycarbazole- and oxadiazole-containing segments as hole and electron transporting units, respectively, were synthesized by NMRP manner. OLED devices were fabricated using block copolymer, random copolymer, and polymer blend for matrix of the emitting layer with Ir(ppy)3 as a phosphorescent dopant in order to investigate morphological effect on the performance. From the finding that the block copolymer system overwhelmed the others in EQE, we assumed that a morphology with dimethoxycarbazole units assembled to the surface of PEDOT:PSS played a considerable role for effective recombination of charges as well as sufficient charge injection into the emitting layer.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Positron emission tomography (PET) allows the measurement of benzodiazepine-gamma-aminobutyric acidA (GABA(A)) receptor kinetics. We employed flumazenil radiolabeled with carbon 11, a radioligand that labels the benzodiazepine site on the GABA(A) receptor, and fully quantitative, high-sensitivity PET to test the hypothesis that central benzodiazepine site binding is decreased in medication-free patients with panic disorder. METHODS: We compared 7 patients with panic disorder who had been off medication for at least 6 months and who had never abused alcohol with 8 healthy controls. The resulting parametric voxel-by-voxel maps were analyzed by voxel-based and region of interest-based methods using both parametric and nonparametric statistics. RESULTS: The major finding was that there is a global reduction in benzodiazepine site binding throughout the brain in patients with panic disorder compared with controls. There were sex differences in the 2 samples, but a separate analysis excluding women led to the same conclusions. In addition, the loci with the largest regional decrease in binding (right orbitofrontal cortex and right insula) were areas thought to be essential in the central mediation of anxiety. CONCLUSION: These results must be considered preliminary but are congruous with previous clinical psychopharmacologic evidence of involvement of the benzodiazepine-GABA(A) receptor and demonstrate that decreased flumazenil binding at this site may underlie panic disorder.  相似文献

A wide variety of biological activities including the major metabolic actions of insulin is regulated by phosphatidylinositol (PI) 3-kinase. However, the downstream effectors of the various signaling pathways that emanate from PI 3-kinase remain unclear. Akt (protein kinase B), a serine-threonine kinase with a pleckstrin homology domain, is thought to be one such downstream effector. A mutant Akt (Akt-AA) in which the phosphorylation sites (Thr308 and Ser473) targeted by growth factors are replaced by alanine has now been shown to lack protein kinase activity and, when overexpressed in CHO cells or 3T3-L1 adipocytes with the use of an adenovirus vector, to inhibit insulin-induced activation of endogenous Akt. Akt-AA thus acts in a dominant negative manner in intact cells. Insulin-stimulated protein synthesis, which is sensitive to wortmannin, a pharmacological inhibitor of PI 3-kinase, was abolished by overexpression of Akt-AA without an effect on amino acid transport into the cells, suggesting that Akt is required for insulin-stimulated protein synthesis. Insulin activation of p70 S6 kinase was inhibited by approximately 75% in CHO cells and approximately 30% in 3T3-L1 adipocytes, whereas insulin-induced activation of endogenous Akt was inhibited by 80 to 95%, by expression of Akt-AA. Thus, Akt activity appears to be required, at least in part, for insulin stimulation of p70 S6 kinase. However, insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in both CHO cells and 3T3-L1 adipocytes was not affected by overexpression of Akt-AA, suggesting that Akt is not required for this effect of insulin. These data indicate that Akt acts as a downstream effector in some, but not all, of the signaling pathways downstream of PI 3-kinase.  相似文献

Food poisoning from Staphylococcus aureus is sometimes caused by improper handling of food items in food preparation facilities. Prevention of contamination by employees is particularly important in facilities where a significant amount of food preparation is performed by hand. Some experiments have been performed to describe bacterial cross-contamination in the food preparation process, but there have been few studies of cross-contamination in actual food preparation facilities. Aiming to shed light on the transmission of S. aureus in food preparation facilities, this study collected samples of 66 strains of this bacterium from the fingers of food preparation staff, foodstuffs, prepared foods, cooking utensils, and cooking equipment and typed them with the ribotyping method. S. aureus from the same ribogroup was detected on the hands of a study participant, a faucet, knife, frying pan, and a salad, indicating that bacteria found on the hands of the study participant was transmitted to cooking utensils and prepared foods. Transmission (from a faucet to a frying pan handle) of bacteria by another person, a third party, was also detected.  相似文献

Previous studies suggested that the interaction between proteins modified by advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and cells, such as macrophages, may be involved in diabetic angiopathy. Pyrraline is one of the AGEs and known to be elevated in plasma of diabetic rats and humans, and is present in vascular lesions of diabetic and elderly subjects. We examined whether modification of albumin by pyrraline influences its degradation by macrophage-like cell line, P388D1 cells. Degradation of pyrraline-modified albumin by these cells was diminished, causing accumulation of the albumin in these cells. The susceptibility of pyrraline-modified albumin to lysosomal proteolytic enzymes was reduced by approximately 40% in vitro, while lysosomal activity in the cells per se was not affected. This phenomenon was also observed when human monocytes were used instead of P388D1 cells. Our results suggest that accumulation of pyrraline-modified albumin in P388D1 cells is due to the reduced susceptibility of the protein to lysosomal enzymatic degradation. Such alterations in the interaction between AGEs-modified protein and phagocytes may contribute to angiopathy in elderly subjects and patients with diabetes.  相似文献

Inefficient removal of estrone (E1) in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) causes feminizing effects in male aquatic creatures. As E1 is mainly removed by biodegradation, investigation of E1 degradation is important to determine better removal strategies. Using microautoradiography-fluorescence in situ hybridization (MAR-FISH), we demonstrated that the structures of [3H]E1-incorporating bacterial communities were different at different E1 concentrations applied to activated sludge. At 200 μg/L E1, almost all [3H]E1-incorporating cells were associated with either Betaproteobacteria or Gammaproteobacteria (60% and 40% of MAR (+) cells, respectively). The proportion of Betaproteobacteria and Gammaproteobacteria in the total number of [3H]E1-incorporating cells decreased as the concentration of E1 decreased. In contrast, the proportion of Alphaproteobacteria in the total number of [3H]E1-incorporating cells increased as the concentrations of E1 decreased. At the lowest applied concentration (540 ng/L), almost all the [3H]E1-incorporating cells were Alphaproteobacteria (96%). The results of MAR-FISH applied to sludge samples collected from various plant locations and activated sludge processes, and during different seasons also demonstrated the high contribution of Alphaproteobacteria to the entire E1-degrading bacterial community (50.4 ± 11% of the total number of [3H]E1-incorporating cells) at 1 μg/L E1. Since the E1 concentration in domestic wastewater is at sub-μg/L levels, the key E1 degraders in activated sludge of domestic WWTPs are probably be Alphaproteobacteria. All [3H]E1-incorporating Alphaproteobacteria were hybridized with probe ALF968. Few MAR (+) cells were Sphingomonadales. An E1-degrading bacterial community at low E1 concentration appeared to consist of diverse bacterial groups of Alphaproteobacteria. This study suggested that substrate concentration is an essential factor for revealing E1-degrading bacteria in complex communities.  相似文献
