The soft X-ray yield versus pressure curves of NX1 and NX2 plasma focus machines have been measured and published for different pressures and electrode configurations. In this work, the numerical experiments are carried out, using Lee model code. The Lee model code is configured for each of these devices NX1 and NX2 by fitting computed total discharge current waveform against a measured total discharge current waveform. The computed soft X-ray yield versus pressure curves are compared with the laboratory measured soft X-ray yield versus pressure data. The comparison shows agreement between computation and measurement of several important features of the yield versus pressure curves.  相似文献

The selection of optimum chock (support) capacity is very crucial for a successful longwall mining. The selection of chock capacity depends on the site-specific geotechnical parameters, constraints and longwall panel geometry, which are generally not known in detail in priority. Hence, based on the field and laboratory data, various possible combinations should be analyzed to cater for the unforeseeable mining conditions. This paper discusses the use of numerical model for selecting an appropriate chock capacity based on the site-specific geological and geotechnical information and longwall panel geometry. The fracture mechanisms of immediate and main roofs are also discussed for various panel widths and support capacities. For the models considered, the chock convergence is predicted to increase by about 33% due to the increase in face width from 100 to 260 m. Similarly, the massive roof strata are found to yield higher chock convergence compared to bedded strata.  相似文献

Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is an important growth regulator of the embryonic day (E)9-E11 mouse. In comparably aged rat embryos, VIP messenger RNA (mRNA) is not detectable; however, peak concentrations of VIP in maternal rat serum indicate a nonembryonic source. In the current study, mouse maternal and embryonic tissues were examined from E6-E12. Although RT-PCR revealed VIP mRNA in E6-E7 conceptuses, by E8 (when extraembryonic tissues could be separated from the embryo), VIP mRNA was detected only in the decidua/trophoblast. Decidual/trophoblastic VIP mRNA decreased until E10, after which it was not detectable. VIP mRNA was not apparent in the embryo until E11-E12. At E9, VIP immunoreactivity was localized to abundant, diffuse cells in the decidua basalis, which were also immunoreactive for T cell markers. VIP binding sites were dense in the decidua/trophoblast at E6, but gradually decreased until E10, after which they were not apparent. VIP binding sites were detected in embryonic neuroepithelium by E9. The transient presence of VIP binding sites and mRNA in the decidua/trophoblast correlate with the critical period of VIP growth regulation, when VIP mRNA is absent in the embryo. These findings suggest that maternal lymphocytes are the source of VIP's regulating early postimplantation embryonic growth.  相似文献

Different types of particle compounds like concrete particles can be considered as a model material of high strength agglomerates. It is necessary to investigate and understand fracture behaviour of these agglomerates in order to avoid breakage during storage, handling and transportation. The aim of the research is to examine the comminution behaviour of high strength agglomerates during oblique impact loadings.A two dimensional finite element analysis has been carried out to understand stress pattern distributions before crack initiation. Then a two dimensional discrete element method has been applied to study the fragmentation behaviour of the agglomerates. Concrete particles of B35 strength category have been chosen to represent the high strength agglomerates.Analysis is done with oblique impact loadings at different velocities from 7.7 to 180 m/s. The stressing conditions comprise low flow rate transportation and handling to high speed impacts during fall down in bunker, stock piles, ship loading or stressing in crushers and mill operations. Particle size distributions and new surface generation have also been evaluated in the paper.It is shown that at higher velocities, particle size distributions are identical to each other regardless of impact angle. Increasing impact velocity does not necessarily produce more new surfaces after certain velocity limit.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to validate retrospective caregiver interviews for diagnosing major causes of severe neonatal illness and death. A convenience sample of 149 infants aged < 28 days with one or more suspected diagnoses of interest (low birthweight/severe malnutrition, preterm birth, birth asphyxia, birth trauma, neonatal tetanus, pneumonia, meningitis, septicaemia, diarrhoea, congenital malformation or injury) was taken from patients admitted to two hospitals in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Study paediatricians performed a standardised history and physical examination and ordered laboratory and radiographic tests according to study criteria. With a median interval of 64.5 days after death or hospital discharge, caregivers of 118 (79%) infants were interviewed about their child's illness. Using reference diagnoses based on predefined clinical and laboratory criteria, the sensitivity and specificity of particular combinations of signs (algorithms) reported by the caregivers were ascertained. Sufficient numbers of children with five reference standard diagnoses were studied to validate caregiver reports. Algorithms with sensitivity and specificity > 80% were identified for neonatal tetanus, low birthweight/severe malnutrition and preterm delivery. Algorithms with specificities > 80% for birth asphyxia and pneumonia had sensitivities < 70%, or alternatively had high sensitivity with lower specificity. In settings with limited access to medical care, retrospective caregiver interviews provide a valid means of diagnosing several of the most common causes of severe neonatal illness and death.  相似文献

How primary particles affect the fragmentation of particle composites using discrete element method simulation is described. Disk‐shaped composite particles consisting of large aggregate particles embedded in a matrix of smaller sand particles have been impacted against a solid surface at range of collision velocities. The results have been analyzed to determine whether the shapes of the aggregates in the mixture have an influence on the fragmentation of particle composites. It has been identified that the fracture depends on the aggregate shapes of the particle composites. Liberation degrees and particle size distributions have also been found to be controlled by the shape of the primary particles. Particle shapes have a remarkable influence on the fragmentation behavior of the specimen, especially at lower velocities.  相似文献
