Influence of aluminum phosphate on the tribocorrosion performance of chemically bonded phosphate ceramic coatings

In this study, chemically bonded phosphate ceramic coatings (CBPCCs) with different contents of aluminum phosphate (AP) are prepared on stainless steel (AISI 304L). Differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, contact angle test, and a tribocorrosion experiment are carried out to clarify the role of AP in the tribocorrosion performance of CBPCCs. The results show that, with the increase in the AP content, the enthalpy of curing increases because of the greater formation of the bonding phase AlPO₄. Both in static corrosion and in tribocorrosion, the corrosion current density of CBPCCs achieves the lowest value when the weight ratio of AP to polytetrafluoroethylene is about 0.78. Additionally, the influence mechanism of AP on tribocorrosion is clarified. AlPO₄ from the reaction between AP and Al₂O₃ has excellent mechanical properties and can enhance the wear resistance of CBPCCs by reducing the mechanical wear and the increased wear due to corrosion. The alumina particles wrapped by AlPO₄ can form a dense and smooth surface and change the direction of electrolyte propagation, which leads to the increase in the tribocorrosion resistance of CBPCCs.     

Cyclooxygenase Inhibition Alters Proliferative,Migratory, and Invasive Properties of Human Glioblastoma Cells In Vitro

Prostaglandin E₂ (PGE₂) is known to increase glioblastoma (GBM) cell proliferation and migration while cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibition decreases proliferation and migration. The present study investigated the effects of COX inhibitors and PGE₂ receptor antagonists on GBM cell biology. Cells were grown with inhibitors and dose response, viable cell counting, flow cytometry, cell migration, gene expression, Western blotting, and gelatin zymography studies were performed. The stimulatory effects of PGE₂ and the inhibitory effects of ibuprofen (IBP) were confirmed in GBM cells. The EP2 and EP4 receptors were identified as important mediators of the actions of PGE₂ in GBM cells. The concomitant inhibition of EP2 and EP4 caused a significant decrease in cell migration which was not reverted by exogenous PGE₂. In T98G cells exogenous PGE₂ increased latent MMP2 gelatinolytic activity. The inhibition of COX1 or COX2 caused significant alterations in MMP2 expression and gelatinolytic activity in GBM cells. These findings provide further evidence for the importance of PGE₂ signalling through the EP2 and the EP4 receptor in the control of GBM cell biology. They also support the hypothesis that a relationship exists between COX1 and MMP2 in GBM cells which merits further investigation as a novel therapeutic target for drug development.     

Color determinants of surface stratification

Although color plays a crucial role in the demarcation of surfaces in the visual field, its role in depth perception is not well understood. Certain special effects of color on depth perception that arise from optical factors such as chromatic aberration (chromostereopsis) have been studied, but less is known about the role of perceptual factors of color in determining depth relations. The present study explores the role that the different attributes of color such as hue, chroma, and lightness play in the stratification of surfaces in depth. In two experiments, subjects manipulated specific dimensions of colors (hue, chroma, lightness, and whiteness) while making judgments of coplanarity of either two or more abutting surfaces. The results demonstrate that for surfaces to appear coplanar, their lightness has to be proportional to the natural (intrinsic) lightness of the hues. No meaningful effects of chroma, whiteness, or blackness were found in depth stratification. The results suggest a primary role of the natural lightness of hues in depth perception.     

Combination of vegetable soup and glucan demonstrates synergistic effects on macrophage-mediated immune responses

Vegetable soup (VS), a plant-based functional food, has been used as a traditional folk medicine and is attracting attention for its ability to enhance the immune response. β-Glucan, a well-established and effective immunomodulator, has synergistic effects when used in combination with some bioactive compounds. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the synergistic immunomodulatory effects of the combination of VS and β-glucan on macrophage-mediated immune responses. β-Glucan was demonstrated to synergistically enhance the VS-stimulated immune response, including the production of interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-α, and nitric oxide, mainly through the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway in macrophages. Study on Thermal Deformation Measurement of Optical Remote Sensing Satellite Platform Based on Machine Vision

To solve the special requirements of the high orbit optical remote sensing-satellite for the thermal deformation of the platform, the thermal deformation test and measurement scheme of the satellite platform is designed. Through the comparative analysis of test results, the rationality of the thermal deformation design of the platform structure is verified. The results of thermal deformation measurement show that the maximum deformation of A camera mounting surface is 57.5~〃, and the maximum deformation of B camera mounting surface points to 79.3~〃, which can be used as the basis for thermal deformation prediction of satellite during the orbit operation.     

管桁架焊缝质量检测机器人结构与越障稳定性研究

管桁架焊缝质量检测机器人是一种在高空管桁架上采集焊缝信息,并对焊缝质量进行适时检测的机器人,它的越障稳定性是其安全可靠工作的关键.设计了一款能在管桁架上行走、越障,且适应管径变化的机器人系统;分别对沿竖直钢管爬升、周向旋转和越障状态下的驱动轮进行受力分析,初选了关键动作驱动电机参数;利用ADAMS平台进行翻转机构的运动学仿真,发现翻转角速度可影响机器人的工作效率和稳定性,以工作损失效能最小为目标优化翻转角速度,通过数据拟合和多次迭代求得最优翻转角速度;开展了样机稳定性试验,以测量不同翻转角速度下机器人的滑移量.分析和试验结果表明:翻转角速度为0.445 rad/s时,工作损失效能最小,且越障稳定性好;翻转角速度达0.785 rad/s时,出现滑落现象;样机稳定性试验与运动学仿真结果一致.     

Vanadium promoted Ni(Mg,Al)O hydrotalcite-derived catalysts for CO2 methanation

A series of V-promoted hydrotalcite-derived nickel catalysts (1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 wt%) were tested in CO₂ methanation. Ni–I–V2.0 with 2.0 wt% vanadium loading showed the highest catalytic activity, achieving 74.7% of CO₂ conversion and 100% of CH₄ selectivity at 300 °C. XRD and XANES analyses showed that the smallest Ni⁰ particles in Ni–I–V2.0 were consistent with the improved textural features observed for this catalyst. Moreover, CO₂-TPD revealed the highest sum of weak and medium basic sites in Ni–I–V2.0 that can positively influence catalytic behavior. For the studied catalysts, a clear correlation was demonstrated between the catalytic activity and specific surface area, as well as the basic properties.     

Improving tribocorrosion performance of chemically bonded ceramic phosphate coating reinforced by GO-ZnO

To enhance the tribocorrosion properties of chemically bonded phosphate ceramic coating (CBPCC), GO-ZnO was prepared and added into CBPCC. And the tribocorrosion behaviour of CBPCC was investigated. Results show that, with the introduction of GO-ZnO, the open circuit potential of CBPCC shifts in a positive direction and corrosion current density decreases. In addition, the total material loss, the total mechanical wear loss and the total electrochemical corrosion loss of CBPCC all decrease with the increase of GO-ZnO. The wear track of CBPCC after tribocorrosion without GO-ZnO is rough and porous, while the wear track becomes smooth and dense with the incorporation of GO-ZnO. The material in wear track is anchored by GO-ZnO due to the strong bond between GO-ZnO and CBPCC, which decreases the wear loss. Because of the extra force from the tribocorrosion experiment, the material anchored by GO-ZnO forms to a dense structure which prevents electrolyte diffusion into CBPCC. Moreover, GO-ZnO can block the electrolyte diffusion pathway and make it more tortuous. The resistance to the electrolyte diffusion decreases the corrosion current density and the increased wear loss due to electrochemical corrosion.     

Boccia game simulator: Serious game adapted for people with disabilities

Integration in the world of sport is one way for individuals with disabilities or motor disorders to feel more socially integrated, independent, and confident. Boccia is a Paralympic sport, which is increasingly getting more attention around the world. These facts have contributed to the objectives of this work. Including it in the serious games category enables to develop and rehabilitate the cognitive capabilities. The main focus was BC3 classification athletes (users with limited motor characteristics that require the use of an assistive device—a ramp, in this case). This paper describes a realistic Boccia game simulator adapted for people with disabilities that integrates a set of features that includes real physics and social features. These features can be used to enhance the interest of nonpractitioners of the sport and to improve the training conditions. The official Boccia regulation was added to the design of the simulator. The usability and approximation to the reality of the simulator were tested and validated based on the tests performed and data collected via a survey of users with no motor or psychological disorders. Realism and usability rating was almost excellent, and good results were achieved at the assessment of the game experience.
