This contribution compares Germany, France, and the United Kingdom with the Netherlands on a number of issues. The focus is
on (a) processes of urbanization and (b) urban policies (broadly defined in an economic, social, and ecological sense). These
issues are seen in relation to national spatial planning. The authors combine the findings of this comparative analysis with
the results of previous research by one of the authors. At the end, they draw some conclusions and make recommendations for
the next (Fifth) Report on Physical Planning in the Netherlands.
Ton Kreukels is professor of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Geographical Sciences at Utrecht University. From 1986 to 1992, he
was also a member of the Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy. Then, and especially in this last position,
his research was focused on a study of the four big cities and city regions in the Netherlands: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The
Hague, and Utrecht. From 1992 up to the present, he has been involved in a comparative study of urban regions in Europe, including
those of the Netherlands.
Egge-Jan Pollé is a human geographer from Utrecht University. In 1996, while a junior-researcher at Utrecht University, he worked together
with the first author on the study about Germany, France, and the United Kingdom that is reported in this article. That study

The presented study investigates the flow length and the corresponding fiber content distribution in the injection‐moulded natural fiber reinforced thermoplastics and its relation to fiber type and processing parameters such as injection pressure, temperature, injection rate and mould tempering by increasing die temperature. In this research, polypropylene compounds with nominally 30 wt % hemp and sisal fibers are investigated. The influence of the injection pressure (500 and 1000 bar), melt temperature (180°C, 200°C, and 220°C), and die temperature (23°C and 80°C) on the fiber content distribution all over the sample is investigated. An increasing linear trend of fiber content along the spiral length is observed as an evidence of a fiber/polymer multiflow system. A pattern for fiber content distribution with respect to the fiber length along the injected spiral can be distinguished, where the longer fibers are usually found at the end of the injected part and the shorter fibers remain near mould entrance point. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The power control of wind turbines is usually realized via a change in the pitch angle of the rotor blades. Pitching facilitates the exact control of the turbines and the reliable deceleration of the rotor when required. Pitch movements can moreover be used for load control. One of these methods is called individual pitch control (IPC). IPC controls the blades individually and brings about a significant reduction in the fatigue loads and extreme loads placed on the structural components, while at the same time reducing the yield of the turbine only slightly. The lower loads reduce material costs, and thus, the cost of energy (CoE) is reduced, despite the slight reduction in yield. The method is nevertheless not used everywhere since the additional movement cycles put the rotor blade bearings in particular under stress. Special attention must be paid to small amplitude oscillating movements, which carry a high risk of inducing surface damage in the rolling contacts of the blade bearings. This paper uses a cycle analysis of the IWT7.5‐164 reference turbine to illustrate the differences in the movement patterns of wind turbine blade bearings with and without IPC. Moreover, model calculations with single contacts are used to show which of the movement patterns carries a risk of inducing surface damage. The use of IPC leads to the expected load reduction at the blade root. In current literature, IPC is usually assumed to have a negative influence on the life expectancy of blade bearings, but the findings of this study contradict this. The summed blade bearing movement is increased, although the number of very small pitch angles occurring is reduced. This reduction reduces the risk of wear in the blade bearings. 相似文献

Grass carp skin pieces were homogenized in water and hydrolyzed by Alcalase®, collagenase, proteinase K, and/or trypsin at their optimum conditions. Samples were taken at various degrees of hydrolysis and were evaluated for antioxidant, antimicrobial, and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory activities. Alcalase and collagenase completely hydrolyzed the skin with different rates, and released peptides with antioxidant and angiotensin-converting enzyme-inhibitory activity. These activities increased linearly with increasing degrees of hydrolysis. Subsequent incubation of the collagenase hydrolysates with trypsin slightly increased the antioxidant activity. Proteinase K, although only partially hydrolyzing the skin, also catalyzed the release of peptides with antioxidant and angiotensin-converting enzyme-inhibitory activities. These results show that skin by-products from grass carp can be a source of bioactive peptides produced by a one-step reaction. Such hydrolysates may be applied in food products to prolong shelf life and provide beneficial effects on blood pressure. 相似文献

In this study we analyze the life cycle primary energy use of a wood-frame apartment building designed to meet the current Swedish building code, the Swedish building code of 1994 or the passive house standard, and heated with district heat or electric resistance heating. The analysis includes the primary energy use during the production, operation and end-of-life phases. We find that an electric heated building built to the current building code has greater life cycle primary energy use relative to a district heated building, although the standard for electric heating is more stringent. Also, the primary energy use for an electric heated building constructed to meet the passive house standard is substantially higher than for a district heated building built to the Swedish building code of 1994. The primary energy for material production constitutes 5% of the primary energy for production and space heating and ventilation of an electric heated building built to meet the 1994 code. The share of production energy increases as the energy-efficiency standard of the building improves and when efficient energy supply is used, and reaches 30% for a district heated passive house. This study shows the significance of a life cycle primary energy perspective and the choice of heating system in reducing energy use in the built environment. 相似文献

The Swedish legal restriction on construction of multi-storey timber buildings was imposed in 1888 and repealed in 1994. The subsequent emergence of such a timber building system in Sweden is analysed in the context of the existing concrete-based construction system. The characteristics of the construction industry and its path dependency over the past century hamper the development of a timber building system. However, government policies and funding, the wood industry's interest in an enhanced market for value-added wood products, and involvement of the wood research community has helped develop such a construction system. Investments in knowledge creation, incentives for the entry of new firms, and increased prefabrication may facilitate a transition from this formative phase to a growth phase in the diffusion of timber buildings. En Suède, les restrictions juridiques frappant la construction de bâtiments en bois de plusieurs étages ont été édictées en 1888 et annulées en 1994. L'auteur analyse l'arrivée résultante d'un tel système de construction en bois en Suède face à la construction en béton qui existe actuellement. Les caractéristiques de l'industrie du bâtiment et sa dépendance au chemin au cours du siècle dernier empêchent le développement d'un système de construction en bois. Toutefois, les politiques officielles et les financements ainsi que les intérêts de l'industrie du bois dans un marché amélioré pour des produits en bois à valeur ajoutée et l'engagement des chercheurs dans le domaine du bois ont aidé à développer un tel système de construction. Les investissements dans la création du savoir, les incitations à l'arrivée de nouvelles entreprises et l'augmentation de la préfabrication peuvent faciliter le passage de cette phase de formation à une phase de croissance à la diffusion des bâtiments en bois. The emissions of the greenhouse gas nitrous oxide (N2O) were measured from a non nitrogen fertilized carrot (Daucus carota ssp. sativa) field on an organic soil in Sweden during one cropping and post-harvest season. The cumulative emission during the measuring period of 149?days was 41 (±2.8) kg N2O ha?1. Dividing the measuring period into a cropping and a post-harvest period revealed that the presence of carrots strongly stimulated N2O emissions, as the emission during the cropping period was one order of magnitude higher compared to the post-harvest period. The N2O emission from the carrot field were higher than fluxes reported from cereal crop and grass production, but in the same order as reported fluxes from vegetable cropping on organic soils. In conclusion, our results indicate that the cultivation of root vegetable, such as carrots, on organic soil can be a high point source for N2O emissions. 相似文献

Self-reported joint pain, a typical manifestation of osteoarthritis, was examined using 335 twin pairs from the Swedish Adoption/Twin Study of Aging to estimate relative genetic and environmental influences on self-reported joint pain and to examine the relationship between joint pain, health behavior, and psychological variables. Findings suggest that family resemblance for self-reported joint pain represents similar environments more than genetic similarity. Data from the early 1970s, including exercise, physical activity at work, obesity, and neuroticism, were used to predict joint pain in 1993. For men, moderate amounts of exercise decreased the likelihood of joint pain, but strenuous amounts of physical activity in the workplace had the opposite effect. For women, exercise and physical activity were not significant predictors, but past obesity and higher levels of neuroticism increased the likelihood of reporting joint pain in 1993. Zinc protoporphyrin is formed in pork homogenates in both enzymatic and non-enzymatic reactions. Ferrochelatase is active in formation of the highly fluorescent pigment known from Parma ham as demonstrated by inhibition with N-methylmesoporphyrin and by thermal inactivation. A non-enzymatic transmetallisation reaction, exchange of iron in myoglobin by zinc(II), is demonstrated by Pb(II) inhibition of zinc protoporphyrin formation at low Pb(II) concentrations, but promoted at higher Pb(II) concentrations. The non-enzymatic reaction is characterised as a slow bimolecular reaction between protoporphyrin IX and zinc(II) with a second-order rate constant of 0.63 l mol−1 s−1 at 35 °C and a high energy of activation of 98 kJ mol−1 for acetone:water (3:1, v/v) as solvent. Zinc protoporphyrin formation is concluded to be thermodynamically controlled with a formation constant of 4 × 105 M (35 °C, acetone:water (3:1)).
