Cloning,sequencing and structural analysis of membrane-bound polyphenol oxidase from Granny Smith apples (Malus × domestica Borkh)

The gene sequence coding for the membrane-bound polyphenol oxidase (mPPO) with a length of 1761 bp was cloned by PCR method and shown to contain one highly conserved sequence encoding a di-copper-binding region. The predicted three-dimensional structure of mPPO indicated that the active site was located near two copper ions and composed of a typical bundle of four α-helices. Each of the two catalytic copper ions was coordinated with three histidine residues in the hydrophobic pocket, yielding His 180, His 201, His 210, His 332, His 336 and His 366. Docking studies showed that 4-methylcatechol and chlorogenic acid have different binding models due to different ligand sizes and binding sites in the active centre, and it was found that the smaller compound exhibited a higher affinity for mPPO. Molecular dynamic simulation results indicated that Phe 353 is important in controlling enzymatic activity through influencing substrate coordination in the active site.     

Fabrication of high-efficiency Yb:Y2O3 laser ceramics without photodarkening

High-efficiency Yb:Y₂O₃ laser ceramics were fabricated using the vacuum-sintering plus hot isostatic pressing (HIP) without sintering additives. High-purity well-dispersed nanocrystalline Yb:Y₂O₃ powder was synthesized using a modified co-precipitation method in-house. The green bodies were first vacuum sintered at a temperature as low as 1430°C and then HIPed at 1450°C. Finally, the samples were air annealed at 800°C for 10 h. Although no sintering aids were used, full density of the samples with excellent optical homogeneity and an inline transmission of 80% at 400 nm could be obtained. Moreover, photodarkening phenomenon was not detected in the ceramics. Preliminary laser experiment with the fabricated ceramics in a two-mirror cavity has demonstrated 32 W continuous-wave (CW) output at ∼1077 nm with an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 58.2%. To the best of our knowledge, this is so far the highest CW output power and optical-to-optical conversion efficiency achieved with the Yb³⁺-doped sesquioxide ceramics in a simple two-mirror cavity.     

无黏土相盐水储层钻开液体系构建及其抗污染性能评价

采用NaCl/KCl/HCOONa复配欠饱和盐水作为钻开液的基础液相,自研的聚合物VIS-B作为流型调节剂,可酸溶的改性淀粉STA作为体系的降失水剂,Dua及Jqw作为暂堵材料,构建了一套无黏土相钻开液体系。该体系在密度1.10~1.28 g/cm^3间稳定可调,抗温可达130℃,具有较高的低剪切速率黏度和较好的润滑性能,且能有效抵抗各类储层污染物的污染,满足了Missan油田不同储层段的作业需求。     

Hollow multi-nanochannel carbon nanofiber/MoS2 nanoflower composites as binder-free lithium-ion battery anodes with high capacity and ultralong-cycle life at large current density

The electrode materials with high pseudocapacitance can enhance the rate capability and cycling stabil-ity of lithium-ion storage devices.Herein,we fabricated MoS2 nanoflowers with ultra-large interlayer spacing on N-doped hollow multi-nanochannel carbon nanofibers(F2-MoS2/NHMCFs)as freestanding binder-free anodes for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).The ultra-large interlayer spacing(0.78～1.11 nm)of MoS2 nanoflowers can not only reduce the internal resistance,but also increase accessible active sur-face area,which ensures the fast Li+intercalation and deintercalation.The NHMCFs with hollow and multi-nanochannel structure can accommodate the large internal strain and volume change during lithi-ation/delithiation process,it is beneficial to improving the cycling stability of LIBs.Benefiting from the above combined structure merits,the F2-MoS2/NHMCFs electrodes deliver a high rate capability 832 mA h g-1 at 10 A g-1 and ultralong cycling stability with 99.29 and 91.60％capacity retention at 10 A g-1 after 1000 and 2000 cycles,respectively.It is one of the largest capacities and best cycling stability at 10 A g-1 ever reported to date,indicating the freestanding F2-MoS2/NHMCFs electrodes have potential applications in high power density LIBs.     

Analysis of bio-oil physicochemical properties and aging process

The physicochemical properties of bio-oil obtained from pyrolysis of rape straw were studied. Main components of bio-oil were qualitatively analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. It was found that the main components of bio-oil were alcohols, aldehydes, phenols, esters, ketones, and acids. Two-stage condensation device was adopted to enhance the output of bio-oil to 43.53%. The storage and aging process of bio-oil was observed. Viscosity-temperature curve of aging bio-oil was fitted by Matlab programming. Change regulation of chemical compounds and functional groups before and after aging process were analyzed.

Mixed-species biofilms in the food industry: Current knowledge and novel control strategies

Abstract

Attachment of microorganisms to food contact surfaces and the subsequent formation of biofilms may cause equipment damage, food spoilage and even diseases. Mixed-species biofilms are ubiquitous in the food industry and they generally exhibit higher resistance to disinfectants and antimicrobials compared to single-species biofilms. The physiology and metabolic activity of microorganisms in mixed-species biofilms are however rather complicated to study, and despite targeted research efforts, the potential role of mixed-species biofilms in food industry is still rather unexplored. In this review, we summarize recent studies in the context of bacterial social interactions in mixed-species biofilms, resistance to disinfectants, detection methods, and potential novel strategies to control the formation of mixed-species biofilms for enhanced food safety and food quality.     

基于PEMS测量的SSCR系统整车道路排放测试研究

基于车载排放测试系统进行SSCR系统国Ⅴ重型柴油车实际道路排放测试研究。SSCR后处理系统使用前后整车NO_x排放特征的比较显示:对比原NO_x排放,在市区工况下,SSCR系统可降低61.3%的NO_x排放,在高速工况下可以降低85.3%的NO_x排放。测试研究表明:安装有SS-CR系统的国Ⅴ重型柴油车在实际道路工况下NO_x排放符合国ⅤPEMS标准(送审稿)。     

Replenishment policy for a purchase-to-order seller: a tradeoff between ordering cost and delay cost

We consider replenishment decisions on when and how many goods to purchase for a seller under a purchase-to-order mode where there is no inventory and the seller purchases goods to fulfil orders already placed. For each purchase, there is a constant ordering cost. For each order, delay cost will be incurred if it is not fulfilled timely. Generally, the more frequent the replenishment, the higher the ordering cost but the lower the delay cost. Consequently, there is a tradeoff between the ordering cost and the delay cost for the seller to make replenishment decisions minimising the total cost. In this paper, we study three cases of the problem and investigate both offline versions and online versions according to the seller's knowledge about information of future orders. For offline versions with perfect information, we either develop an optimal policy, or prove it is NP-hard and develop an approximation policy. For online versions without any information about future orders, from the perspective of competitive analysis we prove the lower bound of competitive ratio for any possible online policy and present a 10-competitive online policy for the general case and a 2-competitive online policy for each of two special cases.
