The present study considers a possible role of enzymatic reactions in the adaptive response of cells to the beta-emitting radionuclide tritium under conditions of low-dose exposures. Effects of tritiated water (HTO) on the reactions of bacterial luciferase and NAD(P)H:FMN-oxidoreductase, as well as a coupled system of these two reactions, were studied at radioactivity concentrations ≤ 200 MBq/L. Additionally, one of the simplest enzymatic reactions, photobiochemical proton transfer in Coelenteramide-containing Fluorescent Protein (CLM-FP), was also investigated. We found that HTO increased the activity of NAD(P)H:FMN-oxidoreductase at the initial stage of its reaction (by up to 230%); however, a rise of luciferase activity was moderate (<20%). The CLM-FP samples did not show any increase in the rate of the photobiochemical proton transfer under the exposure to HTO. The responses of the enzyme systems were compared to the ‘hormetic’ response of luminous marine bacterial cells studied earlier. We conclude that (1) the oxidoreductase reaction contributes significantly to the activation of the coupled enzyme system and bacterial cells by tritium, and (2) an increase in the organization level of biological systems promotes the hormesis phenomenon.  相似文献

Abstract

Small-angle X-ray and neutron scattering was applied for the structural characterization of aggregates in water dispersions of fullerene C60 prepared by dialysis method and its conjugate with amino acid arginine. Two compounds are also compared with respect to their toxic properties. Experiments on the cytotoxicity of these systems on the A549, HepG2 and HeLa cells showed no toxic effects of the dispersions.  相似文献

Using the methods of infrared spectroscopy (IRS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), it was shown that short-term high-energy machining of detonation nanodiamonds (DND) leads to structural changes in the crystal structure and functional composition of the surface layer on particles. The possibility of spontaneous formation for stable colloidal systems with a narrow size distribution of mechanically activated DND in phenol-formaldehyde oligomers (PFO) was established. By molecular spectroscopy it was revealed that π → π* interactions of the aromatic rings of PFO are caused by orientational phenomena as a result of hydrogen bonds between an activated DND surface and functional groups of PFO. The effect of DND concentration on the curing reaction parameters ofpsgr the phenol-formaldehyde oligomer was determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The concentration effect of mechanically activated nanodiamonds on the physical and mechanical characteristics of a composite material based on phenol-formaldehyde binder and polyamide paper (Nomex) was studied. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A facile method of preparation of stabilized and functionalized nano‐ and microparticles of magnetite by successive application of oppositely charged polymers with a regular structure of macromolecular chains (chitosan and maleic acid copolymers) onto Fe3O4 core are developed. This approach makes it possible to create two types of magnetite interpolyelectrolyte shells, containing carboxylic or amino groups in outer layer of shell. Composition and magnetic properties of composite particles depend on nature of the copolymer of maleic acid, reaction conditions and size of obtained particles. The carboxylic groups of copolymer in outer layer of interpolyelectrolyte shell were converted into reactive anhydride groups by heating. Thermal treatment also leads to covalent crosslinking of shell and improves stability of composites both in acidic and alkaline media. Horseradish peroxidase was successfully immobilized onto covalently crosslinked and activated microparticles of Fe3O4 in aqueous medium without of condensing agents. The proposed reproducible and low‐cost technique does not use toxic reagents or solvents at all stages, including preparation of Fe3O4, formation, activation and crosslinking, of magnetite shell, modification of activated surface of composite particles. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A plasma reactor that contains vacuum–arc and magnetron sputtering sources and radio-frequency discharge that generates high-density plasma in the presence of external magnetic field is developed, constructed, and optimized. The reactor can be used for deposition of various functional coatings with ion stimulation. The parameters of the inductive radio-frequency discharge generated in the presence of external magnetic field that serves as a source of assisting ions are optimized. It is shown that the working interval of the induction of external magnetic field corresponds to the resonant excitation of the coupled helicon and Trivelpiece–Gold waves. The effect of magnitude and configuration of magnetic field on the parameters of gas-discharge plasma and ion current in the substrate region is studied in the presence of separately and simultaneously initiated magnetron and inductive discharges. The effect of ion flux that is incident on the films in the course of growth on the structure of functional coatings is analyzed.  相似文献
