An automotive engine oil viscosity sensor   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
For the evaluation of the condition of automotive engine oil, the oil's viscosity is one of the most important parameters. Using microacoustic viscosity sensors, an oil-viscosity measurement can be performed on-board. In this contribution, we discuss the behavior of the viscosity of engine oil, its temperature dependence, and the resulting representation in terms of output signals of microacoustic viscosity sensors. These considerations are illustrated by means of measurement results obtained for used oil samples, which have been obtained from test cars and fresh oil samples out of different viscosity classes. Finally, the detection of the viscosity increase due to soot contamination is demonstrated.  相似文献

In this paper, a readout circuit for a thickness shear-mode (TSM) resonator is presented which can be used for sensing applications in liquids such as viscosity sensing. The system features compensation of both spurious capacitances and conductances in parallel to the resonator. This allows measurements even in conductive liquids without the need for an elaborate sealing of the sensor. The influence of the spurious elements is determined by means of two orthogonal synchronous detectors and eliminated by active compensation using voltage-controlled amplifiers (VCAs). Furthermore, the circuit is robust against possible phase errors. The basic concept is discussed in detail, and a readout circuit is developed. A prototype is presented, and sample results are given, demonstrating the feasibility of the approach  相似文献

In most of the auction systems the values of bids are known to the auctioneer. This allows him to manipulate the outcome of the auction. Hence, one might be interested in hiding these values. Some cryptographically secure protocols for electronic auctions have been presented in the last decade. Our work extends these protocols in several ways. On the basis of garbled circuits, i.e., encrypted circuits, we present protocols for sealed-bid auctions that fulfill the following requirements: 1) protocols are information-theoretically t-private for honest but curious parties; 2) the number of bits that can be learned by malicious adversaries is bounded by the output length of the auction; 3) the computational requirements for participating parties are very low: only random bit choices and bitwise computation of the XOR-function are necessary. Note that one can distinguish between the protocol that generates a garbled circuit for an auction and the protocol to evaluate the auction. In this paper we address both problems. We will present a t-private protocol for the construction of a garbled circuit that reaches the lower bound of 2t 1 parties, and a more randomness effcient protocol for (t 1)2 parties. Finally, we address the problem of bid changes in an auction.  相似文献

The research on materials and systems for tunable microwave devices has gained attraction within the last years. The radio frequency characterization and the component design of tunable microwave components based on dielectric ceramics especially barium-strontium-titanate (BST) are presented in this second part, whereas the basic material properties are discussed in detail in the first part. After a short introduction to the processing technology used for the fabrication of tunable components based on a BST thick film, the relations between microwave properties and material properties as well as the microstructure are presented in detail. The design process for tunable microwave components based on BST thick films is described. Especially the considerations related to micro- and macrostructure and their connection are highlighted. The paper closes with two different application examples: a reconfigurable array antenna for satellite communication and varactors for high power applications.  相似文献

Barium strontium titanate (BST) thin films are studied with respect to their application as tunable dielectric at microwave frequencies. BST thin films are deposited by means of radio-frequency magnetron sputtering on platinized Si substrates. The substrate to target distance during sputter deposition is varied and the effect on structure, topology, composition and electronic properties is monitored using X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, Rutherford backscattering spectrometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. These findings are related to the dielectric measurements, which are carried out at 1 MHz and in the microwave range up to 8 GHz using metal-insulator-metal structures with Pt electrodes. For further device evaluation, leakage current measurements are carried out. Changing the process parameter strongly affects the composition of the films. The results emphasize the possibility for enhancing the microwave properties by fine-tuning of the chosen process parameter.  相似文献

Periodic structures utilized as transducer or reflector elements play an important role in microacoustic wave devices. Such structures can be described using approximate analytical models. However, to obtain the accuracy required for reliable device simulation, numerical methods have to be employed. In this contribution, we present an efficient numerical approach to calculate the dispersion curves associated with microacoustic modes propagating in periodic structures; the method is demonstrated for the case of Love wave modes. The computational efficiency is related to the utilization of the FFT algorithm in a hybrid Method of Moments (MoM)/Mode-Matching analysis. From the obtained dispersion curves, characteristic parameters such as the stopband width can be obtained which can be used in a coupling-of-modes (COM) model of the structure.  相似文献

This letter demonstrates a scheme to characterize very precisely the field-dependent permittivity of nonlinear ferroelectric films using inhomogeneously tuned coplanar transmission lines. For the characterization, tunable coplanar waveguides on a screen-printed Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 (BST) thick film are realized and measured at radiofrequencies to determine the geometry-dependent tunability of the capacitance per unit length C'. To characterize the nonlinear tunability of the BST-thick film, these C'-values are compared with capacitance values simulated by the finite-difference time-domain method. Avoiding numerical instabilities of the iterative extraction procedure, the convergence of the extracted tunability is validated by three distinct geometries on the same BST substrate. The extracted tunability of the BST-thick film is 67% for an electric field-strength of 20V/mum. The precise knowledge of the field-dependent permittivity enables a distinct tunability optimization of frequency-agile radio frequency devices based on nonlinear ferroelectric films  相似文献

The availability of dual-polarised satellite systems in the Ka-band with different PSK-modulated signals is estimated by making use of cumulative distributions of the bit error rate. These distributions are evaluated by using an approach which combines statistical data from three years of propagation measurements with the OLYMPUS satellite at 20 and 30 GHz, and an appropriate co-channel interference model. In contrast to analogue FM systems, system simulations with QPSK, DQPSK and 8-PSK indicate no significant impact of depolarisation on the bit error performance and system availability  相似文献
