This work presents the dielectric properties of YNbO4 (YNO)–TiO2 composites in the microwave range. X-ray diffraction analysis demonstrates that the addition of TiO2 to YNO results in the formation of a Y(Nb0.5Ti0.5)2O6 phase. In the microwave range, the values of permittivity and dielectric loss did not present major changes with the increment of TiO2. Moreover, the addition of TiO2 results in an improvement in the thermal stability of YNO, with YNO63 demonstrating a resonant frequency of ?8.96 ppm.°C?1. We utilised numerical simulations to evaluate the behaviour of these materials as dielectric resonator antennae and it is found that they exhibit a reflection coefficient below ?10 dB at the resonant frequency, with a realised gain of 4.94 – 5.76 dBi, a bandwidth of 665–1050 MHz and a radiation efficiency above 84%. Our results indicate that YNO–TiO2 composites are interesting candidates for microwave operating devices.  相似文献

In this study the effects of high temperature and moisture on the impact damage resistance and mechanical strength of Nextel 610/alumina silicate ceramic matrix composites were experimentally evaluated. Composite laminates were exposed to either a 1050°C isothermal furnace-based environment for 30 consecutive days at 6 h a day, or 95% relative humidity environment for 13 consecutive days at 67°C. Low velocity impact, tensile and short beam strength tests were performed on both ambient and environmentally conditioned laminates and damage was characterized using a combination of non-destructive and destructive techniques. High temperature and humidity environmental exposure adversely affected the impact resistance of the composite laminates. For all the environments, planar internal damage area was greater than the back side dent area, which in turn was greater than the impactor side dent area. Evidence of environmental embrittlement through a stiffer tensile response was noted for the high temperature exposed laminates while the short beam strength tests showed greater propensity for interlaminar shear failure in the moisture exposed laminates. Destructive evaluations exposed larger, more pronounced delaminations in the environmentally conditioned laminates in comparison to the ambient ones. External damage metrics of the impactor side dent depth and area directly influenced the post-impact tensile strength of the laminates while no such trend between internal damage area and residual strength could be ascertained.  相似文献

ZnO rice like nonarchitects are grafted on the graphene carbon core via a rapid microwave synthesis route. The prepared grafted systems are characterized via XRD, SEM, RAMAN, and XPS to examined the structural and morphological parameters. Zinc oxide grafted graphene sheets (ZnO-G) are further doped in β-phase of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) to prepare the polymer nanocomposites (PNCs) via mixed solvent approach (THF/DMF). β-phase confirmation of PVDF PNCs is done by FTIR studies. It is observed that ZnO-G filler enhances the β-phase content in the PNCs. Non-doped PVDF and PNCs are further studied for rheological behavior under the shear rate of 1–100 s−1. Doping of ZnO-G dopant to the PVDF matrix changes its discontinuous shear thickening (DST) behavior to continues shear thickening behavior (CST). Hydrocluster formation and their interaction with the dopant could be the reason for this striking DST to CST behavioral change. Strain amplitude sweep (10−3% -10%) oscillatory test reveals that the PNCs shows extended linear viscoelastic region with high elastic modulus and lower viscous modulus. Effective shear thickening behavior and strong elastic strength of these PNCs present their candidature for various fields including mechanical and soft body armor applications.  相似文献

ResearchGate has emerged as a popular professional network for scientists and researchers in a very short span. Similar to Google Scholar, the ResearchGate indexing uses an automatic crawling algorithm that extracts bibliographic data, citations, and other information about scholarly articles from various sources. However, it has been observed that the two platforms often show different publication and citation data for the same institutions, journals, and authors. While several previous studies analysed different aspects of ResearchGate and Google Scholar, the quantum of differences in publications, citations, and metrics between the two and the probable reasons for the same are not explored much. This article, therefore, attempts to bridge this research gap by analysing and measuring the differences in publications, citations, and different metrics of the two platforms for a large data set of highly cited authors. The results indicate that there are significantly high differences in publications and citations for the same authors captured by the two platforms, with Google Scholar having higher counts for a vast majority of the cases. The different metrics computed by the two platforms also differ in their values, showing different degrees of correlation. The coverage policy, indexing errors, author attribution mechanism, and strategy to deal with predatory publishing are found to be the main probable reasons for the differences in the two platforms.

Rapid digestion and absorption of carbohydrates have become a health issue (high glycaemic index, GI), which can be a matter of greater concern when consumed in large quantities. Depending upon the influence of carbohydrates on the blood sugar levels, GI classifies carbohydrates (on a scale of 100) as low (<55), medium (55–70) and high (>70) GI foods. Among the pseudocereals, chia seed possesses relatively lower GI (28.53), as compared to buckwheat (52.35), amaranth (47.65) and quinoa (61.50). Consumers now prefer foods with a high GI over the ones with low GI to prevent various metabolic alterations. Celiac disease is a lifelong disorder prevalent worldwide and can only be controlled by following a strict lifelong gluten-free diet. Therefore, pseudocereals could be a potential alternate for low GI food and developing gluten-free food products, including bread, cookies, noodles and pasta. This review synthesises the recently published literatures on pseudocereals as a lowering GI and healthy food option. This review also gives insights into developing pseudocereals as a potential and novel ingredient for gluten-free food applications and the latest research conducted worldwide.  相似文献

Water and land resources are limited and dwindling in quantity and quality due to pollution and the effects of climate change. The "world needs to produce over sixty percent more food to feed" its 9.9 billion population in 2050 using these dwindling resources. Increased food production is also necessary to achieve most of the "UN's SDGs such as SDG1 (No Poverty), SDG2 (Zero Hunger), SDG3 (Good Health and Well-Being), and SDG15 (Life on Land)", etc. The aforesaid "goal can be accomplished by optimizing the distribution of available water and land resources, which can be done through an optimization model". In this study, a water balance model was first developed "to assess the long-term groundwater recharge, which will help to understand the dynamics of the system". Then, after analyzing the results, an optimization model was formulated to maximize the net annual farm income in an irrigated region of India. The water balance model showed excellent results as indicated by "high R-squared (0.9728) and model efficiency (0.91)", and low RMSE (0.2516 m) and ME (-0.0526 m) values. The water balance analysis revealed "that the aquifer level has been rising at a steady rate" over the past two decades. The results of the water balance model were used to formulate various constraints of the optimization model. Under the optimal cropping system, the area of paddy decreases against an increase in the area of sorghum, pearl millet, and cotton during the monsoon. Whereas "during the winter, the area of wheat increases", and the area of mustard and barley decreases. Groundwater "abstraction has increased, eventually lowering the aquifer level and thus alleviating salinization and waterlogging problems in the region". Net yearly income in the region enhanced by more than twenty-two percent to ?821.24 million from the present ?671.33 million. The sensitivity analysis revealed that the crops' market price is the most sensitive factor in the optimization model. "It is recommended that government agencies and real-world agricultural farmers practice increased use of groundwater in conjunction with canal water to maximize farm income. The approach used is the first of its kind in the region under study, is easy to apply, and can be replicated in other regions of the world" dealing with comparative issues.
