The technology of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing combined with interference-resistant channel coding is described theoretically in the application to the millimeter-wave band. The computer simulation of the wideband ground telecommunications system of millimeter waves has been performed under the conditions of multipath interferences.     

Choice of optimal heating conditions for the infrared erradiation of grain

Analysis of the transmission spectra of dried material obtained from the principal anatomical elements of various kinds of grain has shown that the embryo has a selective response in the near infrared, which should be taken into account in selecting a radiator and in checking the temperature regime during the heating process.

Comparative energy content of steel during modernization of OAO Northern Pipe Plant steel smelting production

The comparative energy content of open-hearth steel with a scrap-process and electric steel in the modernization stage of electric steel smelting production is considered. The structure of steel energy content is revealed in the form of technological fuel number (TFN) and the main limiting factors of energy content are determined. Amarked reduction is demonstrated for the energy content of electric steel compared with open-hearth steel. The specific nature of the carburization process for scrap is demonstrated. Typical energy content indices are revealed. The main reserves of energy resource conservation are determined.     

Measuring the nuclear charge of fission fragments using a large ionization chamber—part of the double-arm time-of-flight spectrometer

Identification of decay products is a relevant task in studying rare collinear decays of low excited heavy nuclei. A technique for measuring the nuclear charge of decay products detected by a wide-aperture ionization chamber—a part of the double-arm time-of-flight spectrometer—is described. Two versions of nuclear charge calibration using data of the reaction ²³⁵U(n _th, f) have been developed to determine the charge of the decay products. Testing with simulation data shows that the use of charge parameterization based on the Bohr-Willer empirical equation in the calibration procedure makes it possible to determine the nuclear charge of the fission fragments over a wide energy range. The charges of light ions from He to C, predicted on the basis of this approach, appear to be overestimated by two charge units.
