Simple point detection is an important task for several problems in discrete geometry, such as topology preserving thinning in image processing to compute discrete skeletons. In this paper, the approach to simple point detection is based on techniques from cubical homology, a framework ideally suited for problems in image processing. A (d-dimensional) unitary cube (for a d-dimensional digital image) is associated with every discrete picture element, instead of a point in epsilon(d) (the d-dimensional Euclidean space) as has been done previously. A simple point in this setting then refers to the removal of a unitary cube without changing the topology of the cubical complex induced by the digital image. The main result is a characterization of a simple point p (i.e., simple unitary cube) in terms of the homology groups of the (3d - 1) neighborhood of p for arbitrary, finite dimensions  相似文献

Summation methods can be used for the numerical analytical continuation of power series. In this paper the special class of “general Euler methods” is applied to the power series which result from the classical elliptic two-body problem and the regularized three-body problem. The “region of convergence” and the rate of convergence are considered. The numerical results compare favorably with some other methods which have been tried by other authors.  相似文献

Porphyrin quinones (P-Q's), covalently linked via different aliphatic bridges, have been synthesized and studied in their (porphyrin) cationic and (semiquinone) anionic radical states by EPR, ENDOR and TRIPLE resonance techniques. Time-resolved and steady-state photoexcitation experiments showed that intra- and intermolecular electron transfer (ET) processes occur in these systems, both in isotropic and reversed micellar solution. Analysis of the experimental data showed the occurrence of photochemical redox processes which result in the formation of hydroquinoid and chlorin type derivatives. Strong polarisation effects were observed for the doublet species - generated by intermolecular ET - under steady-state illumination. It is demonstrated that the polarisation pattern can be explained by the encounter of a triplet and a doublet species allowing the radical triplet pair mechanism to occur. Using a porphyrin linked to a redox active crown ether quinone, complexation of sodium cations in the crown gave rise to well resolved sodium ENDOR lines with an unusual high spin density at the aikali metal ion. Moreover, interesting photochemically induced conformational changes, such as folding and unfolding of donor and acceptor with respect to one another in the case of a flexible butylene bridge, could be detected.  相似文献

The stability of two-dimensional Poiseuille flow and plane Couette flow for concentrated suspensions is investigated. A linear stability analysis of the two-phase flow model for both flow geometries shows the existence of a convectively driven instability with increasing growth rates of the unstable modes as the particle volume fraction of the suspension increases. In addition it is shown that there exists a bound for the particle phase viscosity below which the two-phase flow model may become ill-posed as the particle phase approaches its maximum packing fraction. The case of two-dimensional Poiseuille flow gives rise to base state solutions that exhibit a jammed and unyielded region, due to shear-induced migration, as the maximum packing fraction is approached. The stability characteristics of the resulting Bingham-type flow is investigated, and the connections to the stability problem for the related classical Bingham flow problem are discussed.  相似文献
