Investigation of the IC resistance to pulsed electromagnetic radiation

The results of the experimental investigation of the resistance of digital ICs to electromagnetic radiation, whose parameters are varied in a rather large range (at the wavelength λ= 4 cm, RF pulse duration τ = 0.1−1000 μs and pulse-repetition frequency F = 0.1−10000 Hz), are presented. The damage to the ICs caused by the radiations is analyzed. The experiment conditions are compared to the actual irradiation conditions for the ICs mounted on an electronic-equipment printed circuit board.     

Special features of the technology of continuous production of sheet figured glass with an elevated content of glass scrap

The possibility of using from 30 to 100% glass scrap in the production of figured glass is described. Industrial tests of the developed technology in a large tank bath have shown a substantial saving of scarce raw materials.Translated from Steklo i Keramika, No. 3, pp. 3–6, March, 1995.     

Monitoring Bench and Procedure for Measurement of the Parameters of Multiport Fiber-Optic Couplers

A monitoring bench and procedure for measurement of the transmission matrix of (N × N)-type multiport fiber-optic couplers using mechano-optical scanning of the bench to achieve a high measurement rate are presented. It is shown that it is possible to measure the elements of the transmission matrix with error at most ±0.2 dB.     

Effect of high-power RF impulses on the mixer operation

The results of the experimental investigation of mixers operating under the action of high-power interference impulses are presented. The changes in the IF-signal shape occurring as the interference power changes are analyzed.     

Technology of batch preparation in replacing raw materials

The dependence of the batch quality on the kind of raw materials and stability of their chemical composition and the structure of the cyclogram of a batch preparation is analyzed. It is shown that one of the main characteristics of the cyclogram is the boundary range of the commencement of moistening of the raw mixture.     

Adjustment of the batch preparation time-sequencing chart

The time sequence of operations making up the glass-batch preparation process is analyzed. A procedure is described whereby it can be adjusted while the glass factory is operating.
