The dependence of the maximum and minimum wet thicknesses on the coating gap is derived for the slot-die coating process, under different slot-die configurations. Analytical expressions for the wet thickness and its derivative with respect to the coating gap are obtained using a simple flow model. The results indicate that, as expected, the minimum wet thickness increases linearly with the coating gap; however, the maximum wet thickness demonstrates a counterintuitive trend of decreasing as the coating gap increases, when a specific slot-die configuration is assumed. Moreover, the results are also validated by numerically solving the complete two-dimensional (2D) Navier–Stokes equation.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of functional labelling on the consumers acceptability and purchase intentions of blueberry functional beverages (BFB). A 2‐day consumer acceptance test was conducted independently with functional information (n = 60) and without any information (n = 80). The presence of functional labelling did not influence the liking attributes of BFBs (P > 0.05). However, functional information positively affected consumer perception of health‐related perceptions associated with BFBs, such as ‘aiding eye health improvement’ and ‘eye fatigue relief’. Subjects perceived more health‐related perceptions when informed test was conducted. The first‐order effect was observed, in which the degree of the first‐order effect was greater for BFBs that had a thicker mouthfeel. Findings from the results can practically guide product developers and marketers in the functional drink industry by providing the strategy for how to evaluate reformulated functional beverages for the consumer acceptance test by warning a counter‐balanced sample presentation.  相似文献

Doped carbon nanostructures as non-precious metal (NPM) catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in acid medium are mainly synthesized using 5, 10, 15, 20-tetrakis (4-methoxyphenyl)-porphyrin-Fe (III) chloride (Fe-TMPP) as doping and carbon sources. In this study, the doped carbon nanostructures used as cathode NPM catalysts for ORR are prepared using a mixture of iron phthalocyanine (FePc) and arginine as doping and carbon sources. The morphology and composition of the as-prepared samples are characterized using field-emission scanning electron microscopy, field-emission transmission electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy. The crystal and pore structures are analyzed using X-ray diffraction method, Raman spectroscopy, and nitrogen adsorption/desorption method. The sample prepared using a precursor mixture with a proper ratio of FePc and arginine exhibits significantly superior ORR performance, i.e. high specific activity, enhanced half-wave potential, and improved stability in an acid medium, as even compared to a commercial Pt/C. The improved ORR properties is mainly attributed to high portion of pyridinic N state with a relatively high specific surface area, which can result from the FePc precursor surrounded by the fused arginine.  相似文献

One of the most important parts in the development of generation IV nuclear reactors is safety. In the research on generation IV sodium‐cooled fast reactors, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) circulators have received attention for the stable transport of coolants. In this study, the stability of an MHD circulator was evaluated using a mathematical approach to obtain the critical value of the developed pressure. The critical developed pressure equation is a function of the flow rate and dimensionless parameters, which were derived from the theoretical model of the MHD circulator with a dimensionless scaled velocity, flow rate, and pressure. The stability conditions expressed using the critical value of the developed pressure and dimensionless parameters were investigated according to the changes in the main design variables of the MHD circulator. The relationships between the dimensionless parameters, stability, and main design variables constituting the stability boundary of the MHD circulator were analysed. The stability of the MHD circulator is considered safe when the stability criterion ε is lower than 1. The geometrical variables such as the duct thickness or width of the flow gap and electrical variables such as the frequency were the main parameters affecting the flow stability in the MHD circulator.  相似文献

Side-channel attacks have recently progressed into software-induced attacks. In particular, a rowhammer attack, which exploits the characteristics of dynamic random access memory (DRAM), can quickly and continuously access the cells as the cell density of DRAM increases, thereby generating a disturbance error affecting the neighboring cells, resulting in bit flips. Although a rowhammer attack is a highly sophisticated attack in which disturbance errors are deliberately generated into data bits, it has been reported that it can be exploited on various platforms such as mobile devices, web browsers, and virtual machines. Furthermore, there have been studies on bypassing the defense measures of DRAM manufacturers and the like to respond to rowhammer attacks. A rowhammer attack can control user access and compromise the integrity of sensitive data with attacks such as a privilege escalation and an alteration of the encryption keys. In an attempt to mitigate a rowhammer attack, various hardware- and software-based mitigation techniques are being studied, but there are limitations in that the research methods do not detect the rowhammer attack in advance, causing overhead or degradation of the system performance. Therefore, in this study, a rowhammer attack detection technique is proposed by extracting common features of rowhammer attack files through a static analysis of rowhammer attack codes.  相似文献

This paper presents transformative energy-saving schedule-leveraging agent (TESLA), an agent for optimizing energy usage in commercial buildings. TESLA’s key insight is that adding flexibility to event/meeting schedules can lead to significant energy savings. This paper provides four key contributions: (i) online scheduling algorithms, which are at the heart of TESLA, to solve a stochastic mixed integer linear program for energy-efficient scheduling of incrementally/dynamically arriving meetings and events; (ii) an algorithm to effectively identify key meetings that lead to significant energy savings by adjusting their flexibility; (iii) an extensive analysis on energy savings achieved by TESLA; and (iv) surveys of real users which indicate that TESLA’s assumptions of user flexibility hold in practice. TESLA was evaluated on data gathered from over 110,000 meetings held at nine campus buildings during an 8-month period in 2011–2012 at the University of Southern California and Singapore Management University. These results and analysis show that, compared to the current systems, TESLA can substantially reduce overall energy consumption.  相似文献

Ground cave-ins caused by damaged sewer pipes have been frequently reported in metropolitan areas and have caused severe socioeconomic losses. In this study, model experiments were conducted to determine how damaged sewer pipes generate ground cave-ins or cavities, with a focus on the influence of the soil type and density. Digital images of the model ground were captured to evaluate the internal deformation of the model grounds. Additionally, the vertical displacement at the surface, the size of the cavity, and the weight of the discharged soil were measured in each test. The results indicate that uniform soil with no fines content was more vulnerable to ground cavities than well-graded soil with fines content. Loose soil led to a ground cave-in with significant deformation over the entire model ground, whereas deformation was concentrated only on the ground cavities in the dense soil ground.  相似文献
