Cuspidine-based systems are used to control the crystallization in mold fluxes, which is enabled by CaF2 additions. However, excess CaF2 increases the corrosion of casting machines. Therefore, Na2O and K2O are added to the mold flux system to ensure an optimized crystallization and lubrication ability of the flux with the CaF2 content. This study investigated the effect of substituting Na2O with K2O on the volatilization of fluorine in a CaO–SiO2–CaF2-based slag system at high temperatures. The substitution of Na2O with K2O was performed at 5 mol% intervals. The volatilization was observed by thermogravimetric analysis under several isothermal conditions. The mass loss was measured at a heating rate of 5, 10, and 20 K/min. As the temperature increased, the volatilization of the mixed samples increased. The activation energy was calculated using the Flynn–Wall–Ozawa and Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose methods. A kinetic analysis of the volatilization of fluorine was conducted using the calculated parameters and several known kinetic models. Consequently, the volatilization of the Na-rich sample was controlled by chemical reactions and that of the K-rich sample was identified to be controlled by a phase-boundary-controlled reaction. These results suggest that the addition of mixed alkali oxide promote the volatilization during the early stages of the reaction. From the post-experimental composition analyses, the remaining Na and K in the samples suggested a different mechanism for the Na and K volatilization. The volatilization of Na increased with time, whereas K volatilized easily during the beginning of the reaction.  相似文献

Background: Recently, it was reported that leucine-rich repeat-containing G-protein-coupled receptor 4 (LGR4, also called GPR48) is another receptor for RANKL and was shown to compete with RANK to bind RANKL and suppress canonical RANK signaling during osteoclast differentiation. The critical role of the protein triad RANK–RANKL in osteoclastogenesis has made their binding an important target for the development of drugs against osteoporosis. In this study, point-mutations were introduced in the RANKL protein based on the crystal structure of the RANKL complex and its counterpart receptor RANK, and we investigated whether LGR4 signaling in the absence of the RANK signal could lead to the inhibition of osteoclastogenesis.; Methods: The effects of point-mutated RANKL (mRANKL-MT) on osteoclastogenesis were assessed by tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP), resorption pit formation, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), western blot, NFATc1 nuclear translocation, micro-CT and histomorphological assay in wild type RANKL (mRANKL-WT)-induced in vitro and in vivo experimental mice model. Results: As a proof of concept, treatment with the mutant RANKL led to the stimulation of GSK-3β phosphorylation, as well as the inhibition of NFATc1 translocation, mRNA expression of TRAP and OSCAR, TRAP activity, and bone resorption, in RANKL-induced mouse models; and Conclusions: The results of our study demonstrate that the mutant RANKL can be used as a therapeutic agent for osteoporosis by inhibiting RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis via comparative inhibition of RANKL. Moreover, the mutant RANKL was found to lack the toxic side effects of most osteoporosis treatments.  相似文献

In this paper, we report on the indoor concentrations from a suite of full-scale outdoor tracer-gas point releases conducted in the downtown area of Oklahoma City in 2003. A point release experiment consisted of releases of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) in multiple buildings and from different outdoor locations. From the measurements, we are able to estimate the concentration variations indoors for a building operating under “typical” operating conditions. The mean indoor spatial coefficients of variation are 30% to 45% from a daytime outdoor release are around 80% during an outdoor evening release. Having estimates of the spatial coefficient of variation provides stakeholders, including first responders, with the likely range of concentrations in the building when little is known about the building characteristics and operating behavior, such as developing urban-scale hazard and consequence analyses. We show differences in indoor measurements at different distances to the release points, floors of the building, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system (HVAC) operation. We also show estimates at different time resolutions. The statistics show that in the studied medium to large commercial buildings, spatial differences would result in peak indoor concentrations in certain parts of the buildings that may be substantially higher than the building average. To our knowledge, very few tracer gas measurements have been conducted in buildings of this scope, particularly with measurements on multiple floors and within a floor. The resulting estimates of spatial variability provide a unique opportunity for hazard assessment, and comparison to multi-zone models.  相似文献

The materials typically used for oxygen transport membranes, Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3?δ (BSCF) and La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 (LSCF) tend to decompose due to their low thermochemical stability under reducing atmosphere. Fe- and Co-doped SrTiO3 (SrTi1-x-yCoxFeyO3-δ, x + y ≤ 0.35) (STCF) materials showing an oxygen transport comparable to LSCF have great potential for application in ion-transport-devices. In this study, the thermochemical stability of pure perovskite-structured STCF was investigated after annealing in a syngas atmosphere at 600–900 °C. The phase composition of the materials after annealing was characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD). The thermodynamic activities of SrO, FeO, and CoO in the STCF materials were evaluated using Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry (KEMS). Co-doped SrTiO3 (STC) materials were not stable after annealing in the syngas atmosphere above 5 mol% Co-substitution. Ruddlesden-Popper-like phases and SrCO3 were detected after annealing at 600 °C. In contrast, Fe substitution (STF) showed good stability after annealing in syngas upto 35 mol% substitution.  相似文献

Nanoceria was synthesized by treating cerium carbonate hydrate in a molten KOH-NaOH mixture at 200 °C. The nanoceria thus synthesized under a hydrogen atmosphere had a crystal size of 21.6 nm measured by XRD, consistent with the particle size of 23 nm measured by TEM. Raman spectra results indicated that the nanoceria produced under hydrogen had a downshift of 0.9 cm?1 from the sample synthesized in air. XPS spectra showed that the Ce3+ fraction of the nanoceria synthesized in hydrogen was greater than that produced in air. The oxygen vacancies were formed by partial oxidization of the precursor in molten KOH-NaOH mixture. The UV–visible absorption properties of ceria synthesized under hydrogen showed a 34 nm red-shift compared with that synthesized in air. The nanoceria prepared in this work had a better catalytic property for CO oxidization than the commercial nanoceria. Results indicated that the increased Ce3+ fraction or oxygen vacancies formed by this partial oxidization process extended the absorption edge of ceria resulting in a narrower band gap, and enhanced the catalytic activity of nanoceria. This method has proven to provide a simple and scalable method for the synthesis of high quality nanoceria.  相似文献

An automatic mackerel grader is a machine that automatically sorts mackerel according to size. The chute spreads the mackerel to allow the latter to enter each roller evenly. Sorting is simulated to confirm that the multibody dynamics model of the automatic grader correctly sorts the mackerel. This process is completed according to the shape of the chute to confirm the effect on performance. A new shape of the chute and the application are proposed and evaluated by a comparison with conventional chute shapes. RecurDyn, a multi-body dynamics program, is used for the sorting simulation. The contact parameters are defined by Hertzian contact theory using the material information of mackerel and C/S steel. A rigid-body mackerel model is used to express the behavior of mackerel. Sorting is simulated for each shape. The sorting accuracy and error of the new shape are compared with those of two existing shapes. The new shape shows a 0.29 mm sorting error and better sorting accuracy than the existing shapes.  相似文献
