In this investigation, terpolymers, copolymers, and homopolymer of acrylonitrile with dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide (DMAPA), itaconic acid (IA) viz., poly(acrylonitrile‐ran‐3‐dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide‐ran‐itaconic acid) [P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA)], poly(acrylonitrile‐co‐3, dimethylaminopropyl acrylamide) [P(AN‐DMAPP)] were synthesized with varying amounts of comonomers using solution polymerization process. The chemical structure, composition, bonding network were determined employing infrared, 1H and, 13‐carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic techniques. Molecular characteristics of as‐synthesized polymers such as different kinds of average molecular weights, molecular weight distribution were estimated applying solution viscometry and size exclusion chromatography. The influence of comonomers (DMPAA, IA) on the thermal stabilization characteristics of acrylonitrile terpolymers in comparison with copolymers and homopolymers of acrylonitrile were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), hyphenated thermal techniques (thermal gravimetry coupled with differential thermal analyzer).The DSC curves of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) exhibit a distinct broader bimodal peaks with thermal exotherm initiating at as low as 165 °C, and followed by two peaks with temperature difference of 42 °C, releasing the evolved heat at a release rate of 0.7–0.11 J g?1s?1over 10 min as compared to 1.2, 7.5 J g?1s?1 in 4.5, 2 min as observed in P(AN‐DMAPP), polyacrylonitrile, respectively. The thermal stability of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) and P(AN‐DMAPP), as evidenced by TGA‐DTA was found to be higher than PAN homopolymers. Specific heat capacity measurements confirmed the DSC results. Bulk densities of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) were in the range 0.31–0.35 g/cc. These results confirm the low‐temperature stabilization characteristics and suitability of P(AN‐DMAPP‐IA) as low cost carbon fiber precursor polymers. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. l -lactate is a conjugate base of α-hydroxy acid, a key organic chemical in food processing, fermentation, biology and chemical industries. We are reporting for the first time a facile and rapid non-enzymatic nanosensor for l -lactate detection in tomato-based products using 3-aminophenylboronic acid (3-APBA)-added zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs). 3-APBA-functionalised ZnO NPs have a selective and stable SPR intensity change at pH 5.5 to 7.5 and forms a reversible ester with bound l -lactate revealing the wavelength shift from λ = 300 nm to 288 nm in UV-VIS absorption spectrometry. In the spiked (2.5–20 mm ) samples of tomato puree, absorption peak increased as per l -lactate addition with the lower detection limit of 3.98 mm . l -lactate binds with a trigonal form of 3-boronate, thereby generating the tetrahedral complex. ZnO NPs stabilise the tetragonal complex. Nanosensor validated with standard HPLC. This method is useful for l -lactate detection and alternates to conventional techniques.  相似文献

CdS semiconductor with different morphologies have been achieved by simple thermal evaporation of CdS powder at 1050 °C in a flowing Ar atmosphere. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy, Transmission electron microscopy and Photoluminescence. microflowers and interpenetrative nanorods of CdS were formed on catalyst free Si wafers at a temperature of 700 °C and 600 °C respectively. The flower like structures are composed of many interleaving nanorods which have the uniform diameter of about 700 nm and a well crystalline structure with [0001] as growth direction. The interpenetrative nanorods are found to be bounded with six side facets. X-ray diffraction studies revealed the hexagonal structure in both the products. The formation mechanism of microflowers and interpenetrated nanorods was discussed on the basis of nucleation growth kinetics. Room temperature photoluminescence spectra showed a strong green emission band (at ∼510 nm) from the CdS flower like structures, but on the other hand a red emission shoulder along with strong green emission band was observed for interpenetrative nanorods. These CdS micro/nanostructures with abundant morphologies may find applications in various micro/nanodevices, and the kinetics-driven morphology might be exploited to synthesize similar structures of other functional II–VI semiconductors.  相似文献

The sidewall functionalization of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) was established by poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) using controlled radical polymerization (CRP) method. A bromide functionalized SWCNT (SWCNT-Br) has been used as an initiator for the synthesis of SWCNT-graft-PMMA (SWCNT-g-PMMA). The efficiency of the sacrificial initiator (S) was monitored during the polymerization process. The obtained polymers possess a uniform distribution of molecular weight with a lower polydispersity index of 1.36. The SWCNTs-based initiator acts as an efficient medium for the controlled growth of polymer on the SWCNTs surfaces. The presence of bimodal gel permeation chromatographic (GPC) curve for the SWCNT-g-PMMA(S) obtained through sacrificial initiator (S) confirms uncontrolled behavior. However, the clear sharp peak for SWCNT-g-PMMA obtained without sacrificial initiator shows its well-controlled process of polymerization, which acts as a mimic to bone cement. The efficiency of the functionalization of SWCNT and the controlled formation of SWCNT-g-PMMA composites were characterized by TGA, Raman, TEM, NMR, XPS and dispersion measurements.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We review the status of research on thermal/phonon transport in disordered materials. The term disordered materials is used here to encompass both structural and compositional disorder. It includes structural deviations ranging from an ideal crystal with disordered arrangements of defects all the way to fully amorphous materials, as well as crystals with impurities up through multi-component random alloys. Both types of disorder affect phonons by breaking the symmetry of an idealized crystal and changing their character/mode shapes. These effects have important implications with regard to phonon–phonon interactions, phonon transport and phonon interactions with other quantum particles, which are being actively investigated. Herein, we synthesize the current theoretical understanding, identify the aspects of the problem that require more work, and pose open questions. Understanding the global metabolic changes during the senescence of tumor cells can have implications for developing effective anti-cancer treatment strategies. Ionizing radiation (IR) was used to induce senescence in a human colon cancer cell line HCT-116 to examine secretome and metabolome profiles. Control proliferating and senescent cancer cells (SCC) exhibited distinct morphological differences and expression of senescent markers. Enhanced secretion of pro-inflammatory chemokines and IL-1, anti-inflammatory IL-27, and TGF-β1 was observed in SCC. Significantly reduced levels of VEGF-A indicated anti-angiogenic activities of SCC. Elevated levels of tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases from SCC support the maintenance of the extracellular matrix. Adenylate and guanylate energy charge levels and redox components NAD and NADP and glutathione were maintained at near optimal levels indicating the viability of SCC. Significant accumulation of pyruvate, lactate, and suppression of the TCA cycle in SCC indicated aerobic glycolysis as the predominant energy source for SCC. Levels of several key amino acids decreased significantly, suggesting augmented utilization for protein synthesis and for use as intermediates for energy metabolism in SCC. These observations may provide a better understanding of cellular senescence basic mechanisms in tumor tissues and provide opportunities to improve cancer treatment.  相似文献

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a vascular condition that causes permanent dilation of the abdominal aorta, which can lead to death due to aortic rupture. The only treatment for AAA is surgical repair, and there is no current drug treatment for AAA. Aortic inflammation, vascular smooth muscle cell apoptosis, angiogenesis, oxidative stress and vascular remodeling are implicated in AAA pathogenesis. Kallistatin is a serine proteinase inhibitor, which has been shown to have a variety of functions, potentially relevant in AAA pathogenesis. Kallistatin has been reported to have inhibitory effects on tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) signaling induced oxidative stress and apoptosis. Kallistatin also inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and Wnt canonical signaling, which promote inflammation, angiogenesis, and vascular remodeling in various pre-clinical experimental models. This review explores the potential protective role of kallistatin in AAA pathogenesis.  相似文献

This paper presents a computationally efficient approach for mobile subscriber position estimation in wireless networks. A method of data scaling assisted by timing adjust is introduced in fingerprint-based location estimation under a framework which allows for minimising computational cost. The proposed method maintains a comparable level of accuracy to the traditional case where no data scaling is used and is evaluated in a simulated environment under varying channel conditions. The proposed scheme is studied when it is augmented by a hidden-Markov model to match the internal parameters to the channel conditions that present, thus minimising computational cost while maximising accuracy. Furthermore, the timing adjust quantity, available in modern wireless signalling messages, is shown to be able to further reduce computational cost and increase accuracy when available. The results may be seen as a significant step towards integrating advanced position-based modelling with power-sensitive mobile devices.  相似文献
