Cachexia is a multifactorial syndrome characterized by muscle loss that cannot be reversed by conventional nutritional support. To uncover the molecular basis underlying the onset of cancer cachectic muscle wasting and establish an effective intervention against muscle loss, we used a cancer cachectic mouse model and examined the effects of aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise successfully suppressed muscle atrophy and activated adiponectin signaling. Next, a cellular model for cancer cachectic muscle atrophy using C2C12 myotubes was prepared by treating myotubes with a conditioned medium from a culture of colon-26 cancer cells. Treatment of the atrophic myotubes with recombinant adiponectin was protective against the thinning of cells through the increased production of p-mTOR and suppression of LC3-II. Altogether, these findings suggest that the activation of adiponectin signaling could be part of the molecular mechanisms by which aerobic exercise ameliorates cancer cachexia-induced muscle wasting.  相似文献

The side reactions of triclosan (2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxydiphenyl ether, TC) and chlorine in the presence of sodium chloride were investigated. In the absence of sodium chloride, three chloro-derivatives of TC, 2',3,4,4'-tetrachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3-Cl-TC), 2',4,4',5-tetrachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (5-Cl-TC), and 2',3,4,4',5-pentachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3,5-Cl(2)-TC) were formed, whereas in the presence of sodium chloride, 3-bromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3-Br-TC), 5-bromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (5-Br-TC), (3 or 5)-bromo-2',4,4',(5 or 3)-chloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether ((3,5)-(BrCl)-TC), and 3,5-dibromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3,5-Br(2)-TC) were additionally formed. Radiochemical neutron activation analysis indicated that 1g of commercially available sodium chloride contained 73 microg of bromide and the bromide ion was determined to be the source of the side reactions. The rate of decrease of TC due to reaction with chlorine was greatly accelerated by the presence of bromide ion in the system: the rate with only 1 x 10(-5) M bromide ion was three times the rate in the absence of bromide.  相似文献

Human–robot interaction during general service tasks in home or retail environment has been proven challenging, partly because (1) robots lack high-level context-based cognition and (2) humans cannot intuit the perception state of robots as they can for other humans. To solve these two problems, we present a complete robot system that has been given the highest evaluation score at the Customer Interaction Task of the Future Convenience Store Challenge at the World Robot Summit 2018, which implements several key technologies: (1) a hierarchical spatial concepts formation for general robot task planning and (2) a mixed reality interface to enable users to intuitively visualize the current state of the robot perception and naturally interact with it. The results obtained during the competition indicate that the proposed system allows both non-expert operators and end users to achieve human–robot interactions in customer service environments. Furthermore, we describe a detailed scenario including employee operation and customer interaction which serves as a set of requirements for service robots and a road map for development. The system integration and task scenario described in this paper should be helpful for groups facing customer interaction challenges and looking for a successfully deployed base to build on.  相似文献

The long‐term dc properties of DC‐XLPE insulation materials, which have been developed for dc use, were investigated. It was found that the lifetime of DC‐XLPE under dc voltage application is extended by the addition of nano‐sized filler. The time dependence of the space charge distribution at 50 kV/mm was observed for 7 days. Almost no accumulation of space charge in DC‐XLPE was found. The 250‐kV DC‐XLPE cables and accessories were manufactured and subjected to a type test and PQ test for use in the Hokkaido–Honshu dc link facility owned by the Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. These tests were performed under conditions that included a polarity reversal test for line commutated converter (LCC) systems as recommended in CIGRE TB 219. The test temperature was 90 °C. The type test and PQ test were successfully completed. The DC‐XLPE cable and accessories were installed in summer 2012 for the Hokkaido–Honshu dc link. After the installation of the dc extruded cable system, a dc high‐voltage test at 362.5 kV (=1.45 PU) for 15 min was successfully completed in accordance with CIGRE TB 219. This dc extruded cable system was put into operation in December 2012 as the world's highest‐voltage extruded dc cable in service and the world's first dc extruded cable for a LCC system including polarity reversal operation.  相似文献

Porous ceramics with unidirectionally oriented pores have been prepared by various methods such as anodic oxidation, templating using wood, unidirectional solidification, extrusion, etc. The templating method directly replicates the porous microstructure of wood to prepare porous ceramics, whereas the extrusion method mimics the microstructures of tracheids and xylems in trees. These two methods are therefore the main focus of this review as they provide good examples of the preparation of functional porous ceramics with properties replicating nature. The well-oriented cylindrical through-hole pores prepared by the extrusion method using fibers as the pore formers provide excellent permeability together with high mechanical strength. Examples of applications of these porous ceramics are given, including their excellent capillary lift of over 1 m height which could be used to counteract urban heat island phenomena, and other interesting properties arising from anisotropic unidirectional porous structures.  相似文献

This paper proposes a power supply suitable for driving linear induction motors. The power supply consists of a voltage source inverter (VSI) and a magnetic energy recovery switch (MERS). Circuit configuration and operation principles of the power supply are described. Power factor correction by MERS can increase the output power. Technical advantages of using MERS compared with increasing the rated voltage of VSI are discussed. Some experiments with a linear induction motor were conducted. The results confirm that MERS can reduce the capacity of the VSI or increase the output with the same VSI capacity. The number of devices and magnitude of losses are evaluated on a large‐scale drive system. A half‐bridge type of MERS is provided and discussed. We have synthesized a single crystal of lithium amide (LiNH2, LiND2) by melting method, and performed neutron diffraction of the single crystal at variable temperature. LiND2 is tetragonal structure and I-4 space group. Lattice parameters and unit cell volume of LiND2 at room temperature, 50 °C, 100 °C, 150 °C and 200 °C were determined. Both of the lattice parameters and the unit cell volume increase with increase of temperature. From these results, we have estimated coefficient of volumetric thermal expansion αV of LiND2 to be 222 × 10−6/K. With increase of temperature, all thermal ellipsoids gradually expand because of thermal vibration.  相似文献

In this work, the pitting corrosion resistance of welding duplex stainless steel 2205 was studied. Joints were made using the GMAW process with different fillers: duplex ER 2209 and two austenitic fillers (ER 316LSi and ER 308LSi). The microstructure obtained with the duplex ER 2209 filler is similar to the duplex 2205 base material, but the joints produced with the austenitic fillers cause a decrease of the α/γ phase ratio. In order to evaluate the influence of the filler on the weld, the pitting corrosion resistance was determined by means of an electrochemical critical pitting temperature test, and the mechanical properties by the hardness test. The phase imbalance produced for the different fillers causes variation of the pitting corrosion resistance and the mechanical properties. The variation in the mechanical properties of the material was also studied by means of hardness tests.  相似文献

YVO4:Bi3+,Eu3+ nanophosphor synthesized by the citrate route shows the photobleaching behavior, i.e., the decrease in photoluminescence intensity under the continuous irradiation of excitation light. This photobleaching property is remarkably suppressed by the washing post-treatment combined with centrifugation and the hydrothermal post-treatment. A relation between the fraction of photobleach and the amount of citrate ions coordinating to metallic ions at the surface of nanoparticles verifies that the photobleaching behavior of YVO4:Bi3+,Eu3+ nanophosphor originates from the redox reaction between the citrate ions and V5+ in YVO4 host crystal. The long-term light fastness test reveals that the hydrothermally treated YVO4:Bi3+,Eu3+ nanophosphor has sufficient photostability for practical use over 15 years outside.  相似文献
