The conversion of food industry by-products to compounds with high added value is nowadays a significant topic, for social, environmental, and economic reasons. In this paper, calcium phosphate-based materials were obtained from black scabbardfish (Aphanopus carbo) bones and grey triggerfish (Balistes capriscus) skin, which are two of the most abundant fish by-products of Madeira Island. Different calcination temperatures between 400 and 1000°C were employed. Materials obtained from calcination of bones of black scabbard fish were composed by homogeneous mixtures of hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, HAp) and β-tricalcium phosphate (β-Ca3(PO4)2, β-TCP). Because of the high biocompatibility of HAp and the good resorbability of β-TCP, these natural biphasic materials could be very relevant in the field of biomaterials, as bone grafts. The ratio between HAp and β-TCP in the biphasic compound was dependent on the calcination temperature. Differently, the material obtained from skin of grey triggerfish contained HAp as the main phase, together with small amounts of other mineral phases, such as halite and rhenanite, which are known to enhance osteogenesis when used as bone substitutes. In both cases, the increase of calcination temperature led to an increase in the particles size with a consequent decrease in their specific surface area. These results demonstrate that from the fish by-products of the most consumed fishes in Madeira Island it is possible to obtain bioceramic materials with tunable composition and particle morphology, which could be promising materials for the biomedical field.  相似文献

In accordance, the boundaries are assumed to allow small deflections and moments. Low carbon steel was oxidized over the temperature range 1000‐1250°C in O2‐CO2‐H2O‐N2, O2‐H2O‐N2, and O2‐CO2‐N2 gas mixtures. Oxidation times were 12‐120 min. and the scales were 50‐2000 μm thick. The variations of these parameters were chosen to elucidate the phase composition of oxide scales under conditions similar to those of reheating furnaces in hot strip mills, using either thin slab casting or conventional casting and rolling technology. Two types of scales have been observed which are influenced by the furnace atmosphere, oxidation time, and temperature. The first type is a crystalline scale with an irregular outer surface, composed mostly of wustite (FeO), and a negligible amount of magnetite (Fe3O4). The second type is the classical three‐layer scale, composed of wustite (FeO), magnetite (Fe3O4), and hematite (Fe2O3). In general, the experiments showed that an increase in oxidation time decreased the percentage of wustite while the percentages of magnetite and hematite increased. A rise in oxygen concentration in the gas mixture increased the percentages of magnetite and hematite, confirming earlier experimental findings. In water vapour‐free atmospheres O2‐CO2‐N2, the oxide scales had a low percentage of wustite, and high percentage of magnetite and hematite. Carbon dioxide showed a small influence at 1100°C, and a negligible one at 1250°C.  相似文献

G. J. DuPaul (see record 2003-02033-012) offered two suggestions for additional research to understand the strong source effects reported by R. Gomez, G. L Burns, J. A. Walsh, and M. A. de Moura (see record 2003-02033-001) in attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) rating scales. The first suggestion was to determine whether the source effects represent mostly bias or accuracy. The second suggestion was to minimize source effects through the development of better ADHD rating scales. Because source effects can represent bias or accuracy, it is important to minimize the bias aspect through content validation procedures prior to attempts to determine whether source effects better reflect bias or accuracy. Dynamic neural networks with different time-scales include the aspects of fast and slow phenomenons. Some applications require that the equilibrium points of the designed networks are stable. In this paper, the passivity-based approach is used to derive stability conditions for dynamic neural networks with different time-scales. Several stability properties, such as passivity, asymptotic stability, input-to-state stability and bounded input bounded output stability, are guaranteed in certain senses. A numerical example is also given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.  相似文献

特殊钢材料在轧制过程中一直存在除鳞效果不好的问题,本文分析了加热过程中氧化铁皮生成的机理,针对不同材料形成的不同氧化铁皮成分和致密程度,发现喷嘴的布置和选型对氧化铁皮的清除至关重要,通过理论分析对喷嘴布置和选型做了设计改进,并应用到生产实际中,取得了良好的效果,其结果喷嘴高压水冲击力比原来提高20%,满足特殊钢产品质量要求,同时比原设计节约水量约11%,确保了特殊钢热轧钢坯出炉表面氧化铁皮的清除。  相似文献

The current status of nitrogen containing stainless steels at home and aboard has been introduced. The function and existing forms of nitrogen in the stainless steels, influence of nitrogen on mechanical properties and anti-corrosion properties as well as the application of nitrogen containing cast stainless steels were discussed in this paper. It is clear that nitrogen will be a potential and important alloying element in stainless steels. The residual stresses in -Al2O3 scales formed on high-purity FeCrAl and FeCrAlY during oxidation at 1200°C and subsequent cooling and reheating were studied using photostimulated luminescence spectroscopy. Systematic measurements of the stress in the oxide were made as a function of both alloy thickness and cooling rate and the development of stresses in the oxide scale during thermal cycling was investigated as a function of the temperature. Depending on the ratio of the alloy and oxide-scale thicknesses, substantial stress relaxation was observed to occur during cooling at a rate of 8 K/min. Compressive growth stresses of 1 GPa were determined by comparing the residual-stress measurements at room temperature with those calculated based on thermal-expansion mismatch. No significant differences in the growth stresses, the total residual stresses, or the stress relaxation during thermal cycling were observed between the oxides formed on the Y-doped and undoped FeCrAl samples. Stress relaxation is also shown to lead to the development of tensile stresses in the oxide scale under certain conditions, in particular, those associated with slow cooling followed by rapid heating.  相似文献
