Industry widely uses rotary valves and blow tanks for the pneumatic conveying of products, each having their pros and cons depending on the specific application. This article shows the differing results obtained when low-velocity conveying a product through a common pipeline using both a drop-through rotary valve and a bottom-discharge blow tank feeder. A number of issues arise in the rotary valve system, the main one being rotary valve air leakage. A blow tank system, on the other hand, does not leak, as it is an enclosed system. The experimental results show dramatic differences in product throughput. Further exploration leads to a novel modification being made to the rotary valve system in an attempt to increase its capacity. The result of this modification shows a slight increase in output tonnage, but still significantly less than that obtained from the blow tank. 相似文献

In most used rotary valves in GM-type pulse-tube refrigerators the rotor makes heavy mechanical contact with the stator, so the valve is liable to wear, and large torques are needed. In this paper we will describe two types of valves, which have balanced forces on the rotor. In the first valve the rotor and the stator make no mechanical contact. The second type is a contact valve, like the classical valves, but the forces on the rotor are balanced in a different way. Ion exchanged CoNaY was sulfided at 473 and 673 K and subsequently heated in He at 673 and 773 K. The resulting samples were characterized by means of overall sulfur analysis, temperature programmed Ar treatment and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. It was shown that during He flushing at sufficiently high temperature a protolysis reaction occurs resulting in the decomposition of Co sulfide into Co2+ ions and H2S. 相似文献

Direct mixing of an anthracite with hydroxides (KOH or NaOH) and heat treatment up to 730 °C has shown to be a very good activation procedure to obtain activated carbons with very high surface areas and high micropore volumes. The reactions involved during the heat treatment of these hydroxide/anthracite mixtures have been analysed to deep into the fundamental of the knowledge of this chemical activation process, that has not been studied before. For this purpose, the present paper analyses the drying process, the atmosphere during the carbonisation, the chemical state of the activating agents (NaOH, KOH and Na2CO3) and the chemical reactions occurring during the heat treatment which have been followed by FTIR and TPD. The analysis of our results allows us to conclude that steam is a good atmosphere for the carbonisation process, alone or joined with nitrogen, but not as good as pure nitrogen. On the other hand, during the activation process, the presence of CO2 should be avoided because it does not develop porosity. The reactions, and chemical changes, involved during this chemical process are discussed both from a thermodynamical point of view as well as identifying the reaction products (H2 by TPD and Na2CO3 by FTIR). As a result, this paper helps to cover the present lack of understanding of the fundamentals of the reactions of an anthracite with hydroxides which are necessary to understand the activation of the material. 相似文献

The temperature programmed (palladium) hydride decomposition appeared very effective method for diagnosing the extent of alloying in Pd-Pt/SiO2 catalysts. Introduction of Pt to Pd catalysts moves the TPHD peak gradually towards lower temperatures and the shift in hydride decomposition peak is accompanied by a decrease in the amount of released hydrogen. The catalysts prepared the direct redox method showed much better alloy homogeneity than the samples prepared by coimpregnation. The results of probing with other techniques, i.e. catalytic probing with hydrodechlorination of CCl2F2 and XRD, were in line with TPHD data. The catalytic probing showed the presence of synergistic effect, a clear indication of Pd-Pt mixing. XRD data of post-reaction samples showed carbon incorporation into Pd-rich phase, whereas separate Pt-rich phase did not experience any bulk carbiding. 相似文献
