A computerized potentiometric system for structural and functional anthropometric measurements

A prototype computerized potentiometric system was developed for structural and functional anthropometric measurements. The system uses four potentiometric units, a power supply unit, and a computer with analogue/digital (A/D) converter to measure the position of a movable stylus in three (X, Y, Z) dimensions. The system is easy to use, more accurate, and more cost effective than other existing systems. It has been found to be accurate for the intended application, faster than the manual methods available, and much less expensive than the photographic and opto-electronic systems currently available. For use in the industrial setting, a portable version of the system is envisaged in the future.     

Technical note. Computer-aided human modelling programs for workstation design

In designing a workstation, computer-aided human modelling programs can be used advantageously to analyse human-fit to the workstation components. The analysis is performed within a three-dimensional computer graphics environment. To illustrate the current state of development, six representative programs were selected: CYBERMAN, COMBIMAN, CREW CHIEF, JACK, SAMMIE, and MANNEQUIN. The programs differ considerably in terms of system requirement, operating characteristics, applicability and the various ergonomic evaluation functions available in the human modelling programs. The comparative analysis of the programs will aid the user to select the appropriate program for a particular workstation design.     

Normal horizontal working area: the concept of inner boundary

A model was developed to determine the inner boundary of the normal horizontal working area based on the concept that the elbow and forearm-hand should move on the table surface while describing the area. The proposed model was applied to determine the normal horizontal working areas for the 5th percentile female and 95th percentile male. It was shown that the conventional models that had disregarded the concept of the inner boundary overestimated the area on the average by 26%. The proposed model is more realistic and accurate than the conventional models.     

Determination of worker physiological cost in workspace reach envelopes

Oxygen uptake (VO₂), heart rate (HR) and myoelectric activity (EMG) were measured while performing a repetitive task in the normal, maximum and extreme workspace reach envelopes. The VO₂ and HR increased significantly from the normal to the maximum to the extreme workspace reach envelope. The average increases in VO₂ when compared to the normal workspace were 19 and 52%, respectively. The corresponding average increases in HR were 6 and 14%, respectively. The increase in EMG for anterior deltoid, upper trapezious and erector spinae showed a significant increase from normal to maximum and from maximum to extreme workspaces. The average increases in EMG for anterior deltoid, upper trapezious and erector spinae, compared to the normal workspace were 96, 37 and 48% respectively for the maximum workspace and 193, 95 and 106% for the extreme workspace, respectively. The research indicated for the first time that during task performance, worker physiological cost would increase significantly with the increase in workspace reach levels.

采用RadiantPrecisionWorkstation铁电测试系统测试样品的铁电性能，分析BaTiO3的掺人对（1-x）NBT—xBaTiO3系陶瓷材料的铁电性能的影响。实验结果表明：Ba2＋的掺入可有效地降低NBT基陶瓷的剩余极化强度和矫顽场，在准同型相界组成点，矫顽场达到最小值。

Where are we in understanding the effects of where we are?

This paper briefly reviews research studies of interest to environmental ergonomists. It includes some recent work on the health effects of office lighting, especially the effects of daylighting, fluorescent lighting and full-spectrum lighting. It also covers studies of indoor air quality in offices, especially investigations of localized air filtration and the sick building syndrome. It argues the value of a systematic, ergonomics approach to designing the built environment.     

汽车轮毂加工和气密性检测工作站的设计

针对汽车轮毂机加工过程中定位困难、生产工序衔接不顺畅等问题,基于工业机器人设计了一种汽车轮毂加工和气密性检测工作站。根据轮毂生产工艺流程,构建适应生产节拍的工作站空间布局。通过SolidWorks软件创建工业机器人专用夹具,在仿真软件中创建相应组件,添加输入输出信号,并对信号属性进行连接,实现了这一工作站的仿真和优化。仿真结果表明,这一工作站能够优化汽车轮毂加工工序,提高生产效率。通过路径规划和碰撞监测,这一工作站还可以得到准确的工业机器人作业速度、电机功率、能耗等数据,进而提高生产过程的稳定性。
