The 1101 km length of the Andalusian coast (Spain) was assessed for coastal scenery at 45 specific locations. Selected areas covered resort (3), urban (19), village (8), rural (10) and remote (5) bathing areas. Scenery was analyzed for physical and human parameters via 26 selected parameters. These parameters were obtained by interviews of >500 people on European beaches. Each parameter was assessed via a one-to-five-point attribute scale, which essentially ranged from presence/absence or poor quality (1), to excellent/outstanding (5). Results were subsequently weighted by interviewing >600 bathing area users (not all 26 parameters have equal weight) and subjected to fuzzy logic mathematics in order to reduce recorder subjectivity. High weighted averages for attributes 4 and 5 (excellent/outstanding) reflected high scenic quality, vice versa for attributes 1 and 2. Sites were classified into five classes ranging from Class 1 sites having top grade scenery to Class 5, poor scenery. Seven sites each were found in Classes 1 and 2; 10 sites each in Classes 3 and 5; 11 sites in Class 4. The finest coastal scenery was found in remote areas whilst urban areas scored mainly as Class 3 or 4. Three out of the ten rural sites had Class 3 and 4 values assigned them whereas the rest scored as Class 1 and 2; village sites invariably had scores within Class 3 and 4. Fourier transform and linear discrimination analysis (LDA) are two commonly used techniques of image processing and recognition. Based on them, we propose a Fourier-LDA approach (FLA) for image recognition. It selects appropriate Fourier frequency bands with favorable linear separability by using a two-dimensional separability judgment. Then it extracts two-dimensional linear discriminative features to perform the classification. Our experimental results on different image data prove that FLA obtains better classification performance than other linear discrimination methods. 相似文献

China has been experiencing a rapid increase in battery-powered personal transportation since the late 1990s due to the strong growth of the electric bike and scooter (i.e. e-bike) market. Annual sales in China reached 17 million bikes year−1 in 2006. E-bike growth has been in part due to improvements in rechargeable valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery technology, the primary battery type for e-bikes. Further improvements in technology and a transition from VRLA to lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries will impact the future market growth of this transportation mode in China and abroad. 相似文献

During the charging processes in Flooded Lead_ Acid batteries (FLA), the production of gas bubbles occurs and it effects on the FLA performance. In this experimental investigation, the effect of distance between electrodes at different charge-discharge rates on the electrolyte flow velocity and bubbles behavior is investigated based on the Particle Image Velocimetry method. The reduction in the distance decreases the FLA capacity linearly at the same processes. It leads to an increase in the void fraction of bubbles and a decline in the diameter and rising velocity of the bubbles. The maximum diameter of the bubbles during the charging processes is very small compared to the distances between the electrodes. The effect of electrolyte velocity compared to the effect of the average rising velocity of bubbles on the FLA performance is negligible. The results show that the increase in the void fraction of the bubbles and the formation of bubble layers in the vicinity of the electrodes is the most critical factor at the increase of the ohmic resistance. 相似文献
