Presentation and exchange of business models with CIMOSA-XML 总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4

In the modern competitive business world there is a frequent need for enterprises to modify their structure of business processes to become more effective in the market place. The solution to this management demand is an improved business integration which is only successful when it is supported by effective IT systems. The Esprit project PRIMA aims to create a competitive advantage for European companies in the process sector by providing a route to ‘smarter' IT investments that are effective across the whole enterprise. A process repository which will store business process models in suitable formats would provide users with appropriate views of the models, focusing only on their information needs. However, the existence of many incompatible modelling methodologies and tools makes it impossible to unify the modelling approach. Therefore it would be desirable to have a high level common modelling language. The PRIMA project has identified CIMOSA as the basis for common semantics of the business model language and the XML format, as a suitable format for the transfer of the model structure and content. The PRIMA working group, in an effort to elaborate these concepts, has developed the Document Type Definition concept (DTD) of the CIMOSA-XML meta-model, which can be used to build the partial enterprise models related to the Business Functional Requirements (BFR) of the PRIMA Process Methodology. 相似文献

This article presents the preliminary results of an ongoing research project on Internet-enabled process-based modelling of extended manufacturing enterprises. We propose applying the open system architecture for CIM (CIMOSA) modelling framework alongside object-oriented Petri net models of enterprise processes and object-oriented techniques for extended enterprises modelling. We describe the main features of the proposed approach and discuss some components. We present elementary examples of object-oriented Petri net implementation and real-time visualisation. 相似文献

The advanced information technology innovation roadmap 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
G. Segarra 《Computers in Industry》1999,40(2-3):185-195
The AIT (Advanced Information Technology for the European Manufacturing Industry) initiative is focusing on IT innovations and their integration in the users enterprise. This is achieved through the deployment of the AIT Innovation Cycle starting with the AIT strategic planning (development of a common master plan) and finishing with the business integration of complete IT innovative solutions. The IT integration includes two major action streams supported by various R&D projects belonging to the ESPRIT and Brite Euram research programmes, which are: The technological integration which is achieved in strong cooperation with IT vendors through the development of integration platforms based on emerging standards such as STEP, CORBA, JAVA, etc. In this integration context, the CIMOSA framework has been used to build the AIT IT Reference Model (ITRM). The IT innovations integration into the users' enterprise which consider the usage of all the CIMOSA views (function view, information view, organisation view, resources view including Human, Financial and IT resources) as well as their aggregation in order to support the development of generic networked enterprise (re)engineering methodologies, processes and associated IT supporting tools. This paper is focusing on the second integration stream by describing the progress achieved to date in the AIT-IMPLANT project. The aim of this ESPRIT project is to develop a generic enterprise change management methodology and associated IT tools to support the integration of IT Innovations into the networked manufacturing enterprises. 相似文献

The paper describes, investigations at the Daimler-Benz car production to analyse and correct specific quality disturbances in the torque converter manufacturing. The work has been based on the CIMOSA Design and Implementation Level for process modelling and on a generic timed Petri Net for the model execution and simulation. Relevant simulation assumptions, basic scenarios and the experiments have been specified and alternatives in machine disturbances were simulated. The relevant data were recorded in a log file of a SQL database. After several simulation cycles, simulation data could be transferred from the database to various evaluation systems for a qualitative and quantitative process analysis as well as for the evaluation of various situations. The work also granted the opportunity to improve the transparency of complex interrelations within the business processes investigated. It provided additional knowledge of the influence of disturbances and deviations on the process and on the product quality. 相似文献

Since its market release in late 1994, the FirstSTEP toolset developed by Interfacing Technologies of Montreal, Canada has been proven to be one of the most practical solutions for business process management initiatives. Being a methodology independent enterprise modeling and simulation application, FirstSTEP has been adopted by industry leaders from such diversified sectors as manufacturing, finance, telecom, healthcare, public, and others. Its concept and approach are compatible to the
framework. Most notably is the user front-end simplicity that has enabled its acceptance by the typical business manager who is not usually academic in his/her approach. The paper presents the FirstSTEP tool suite, its concept and approach and demonstrates its capabilities using an application with a most recent FirstSTEP user — America Online. 相似文献
