Vorbehandlung von Fichtenholz mit Chemikalien mit dem Ziel der Verbesserung der Imprägnierbarkeit

Trials with small specimens of sprucewood (see part 1) had shown, that the penetrability of the wood can be improved by means of pre-treatment with some chemicals. The here described work show, that the penetrability of sawn planks can only slightly be changed by a chemical pretreatment. The best results were reached with a 20 day treatment with acetic acid. The bending strength and modulus of elasticity is not caused by the chemicals. Some aspects are discussed with Scan Electron Microscopy (SEM).
