Abstract:Combining the mechanism model of the main equipment in the solar power tower system with the operating modes under variable working conditions, a performance model that can simulate the entire working process of the power station is developed. The simulation study on the dynamic process of the power system under direct normal irradiance disturbance shows that the transition process of the molten salt outlet temperature, the maximum surface temperature and the heat dissipation power of the receiver is relatively smooth while the efficiency returns gradually to the level before a sudden change; the molten salt outlet temperature, the maximum surface temperature and the heat dissipation power of the receiver are basically proportional to the changes in direct normal irradiance; the efficiency grows with increase in direct normal irradiance, and however, the slope gradually decreases. The simulation study on the adaptability of the power system to the load characteristics of state grid indicates that the system is more suitable for morning rush hours in hot startup mode while it is more suitable for night rush hours in warm startup mode; the weather conditions during rush hours obviously affect the load carrying capacity.
