Abstract: | ![]() The Korean National Photovoltaic (PV) Project was initiated in October 1989 to develop technologies for the generation of economically competitive electric power by PV systems. It consists of three stages which will continue until the year 2001. The technical goals and costs targets are directed at solar cell, balance of systems and system application. The objectives are: the development of PV technology through research activities, transfer of developed technology to the industries and diffusion of PV through demonstration projects to the end users. This paper reviews the long-term plan and recent trends in the R&D technology, and shows examples of PV diffusion, demonstration projects and market outlook in Korea. Some activities designed to promote collaboration with foreign countries are also discussed. |
