Abstract: | ![]() Presents an obituary for Raymond K. Mulhern, who died on July 2, 2005 and was one of psychology's most accomplished scientist-practitioners of psychosocial oncology. Dr. Mulhern's seminal work in the field of psychosocial oncology included over 165 publications that addressed a range of psychological sequelae from cancer treatment. His work influenced treatment protocols used for children with brain tumors and led to changes in the use of cranial radiation therapy for children with leukemia. A fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), Dr. Mulhern was awarded the Logan Wright Distinguished Research Award by the Society of Pediatric Psychology (Division 54 of the APA), and was active in several professional societies.
