DMS impact on the technical and economical performance of the distribution systems

6. Conclusions  The distribution system, one of the major components of an electric power system, has traditionally been characterized as the most unglamorous component. Nowadays, armed with commercially available software (DMS/SCADA) and hardware, the distribution utilities have the possibility to manage the immense amount of the information (data), to optimize the internal resources, to maintain a reliable and cost effective energy supply and to be prepared for the future operation strategies while increasing the company revenue.
