Analyses and Improving Measures for Overload Protection Misoperation of DC Filter Capacitor C1 in Gaozhao HVDC System

This paper describes the configuration,operation criterion,trip logic and lock out logic of the overload protection for DC Filter Capacitor C1 in Gaozhao high voltage direct current transmission(HVDC) system based on the software and hardware structure of SIMADYN D device.Moreover,an analysis is made of the overload protection misoperation of DC Filter Capacitor C1 in Gaozhao HVDC system caused by abnormality in the DC measuring circuit,and the method for improving the lock out logic of the protection is presented,which guarantees the safe and economic operation of the HVDC system.
