| Abstract: | Early hyperglycaemia induced by streptozocin was studied in fasting rats. It was found that the early hyperglycaemia was attenuated, the hypoglycaemia was prolonged, and the initiation of the permanent hyperglycaemia was delayed. The early hyperglycaemia induced by streptozocin was further attenuated in carbon tetrachloride pretreated fasting rats. It was speculated that the appearance of the early hyperglycaemia was liver related. |
