Abstract: | ![]() This paper presents a performance analysis of a vector-controlled cage induction motor drive. The drive is fed from a current-controlled converter-inverter system. The pulsewidth modulation current control technique is used to derive the switching signals for the converter, as well as the inverter. Closed-loop control of the cage induction motor utilizes a fuzzy proportional integral derivative speed controller. The advantages offered by the current control converter-inverter link are exploited. In order to examine the dynamic performance of the drive system, its model is simulated and results are analyzed. The potential applications of this particular drive system are outlined |
