Design of Intermediate Frequency Induction Heating Operation Line for Heat Treatment of Oil Well Pipe

Elaborated in the article are the main aspects of the intermediate frequency induction heating operation line for oil well pipes,including the process flow,the equipment composition,the implementation plan,and how to apply the heat treatment(quenching and tempering)process to the 30Mn2 tubing. Relevant operation practice demonstrates that this heat treatment operation line is in possession of such advantages as high heating speed,easy controlling of heating temperature,high efficiency,low equipment investment,high cost effectiveness,small amount of maintenance work,good labor conditions,and environment friendliness. The 30Mn2 tubing as heat treated with the operation line has good surface quality,slight deformation,while its material grade is up to P110,and all of its mechanical properties conform to relevant requirements as specified under API Spec 5CT—2007.
