Abstract: | In a rotating compressible fluid bounded by cylindrical walls, the resonance frequencies of acoustic waves propagating along and against the direction of rotation exhibit splitting into two components. The magnitude of such splitting in a model case that can be realized in experiment has been calculated. The results can be of interest for the acoustics of rotating technical devices and for the measurement of velocities of rotating fluids. |
