Abstract:Digital array radar can search and track multiple targets in different areas simultaneously by using sub-arrays and multi-beam transmitting signals.The design of orthogonal waveforms is a key point of digital array radar.To reduce the autocorrelation sidelobe peak and cross-correlation peak of designed signals,we use an improved genetic algorithm to optimize the orthogonality of randomly generated quadriphase coded waveforms.Simulation results show that the designed orthogonal quadriphase coded waveforms have much better performance than those described in available literature in terms of autocorrelation sidelobe peak and cross-correlation peak.
