Effect of γ-radiation on synthetic fibres–III electrical properties and electron microscope studies

The effect of irradiation on the electrical properties of the synthetic fibres has been studied. The electron photomicrographs have been taken to investigate the structural changes occuring due to irradiation on the surface of the yarn. The results indicate that under optimum conditions of irradiation antistatic properties could be imparted to synthetic fibres without affecting the desirable properties.
