Abstract: | The sulfidizing of the main sulfide minerals of copper-nickel ores, namely, pentlandite, chalcopyrite, and pyrrhotine, by elementary sulfur is studied. The phase compositions of the sulfidizing products are examined by scanning electron microscopy and electron-probe microanalysis, and a mechanism is proposed for the sulfidizing of nickel-containing pyrrhotine under near-equilibrium conditions. |
