| Abstract: | Washed samples of finely-divided magnetite are found, after alkali treatment, to adsorb MS2 bacteriophage very efficiently, from suspension in 100 mg 1−1 NaCl at pH 6.Suspended material, such as clay, components of sewage effluent and ions interfere with virus adsorption, but this interference can be largely overcome by the addition of suitable polyelectrolyte in low concentration. |
