The Electro-Deposition of Silver from Argentocyanide Solutions

A method of deposition of tungsten metal is described which employs an oxidation-reduction cycle in the vapour phase. The process uses a tungsten source held at a high temperature in an atmosphere of hydrogen and water vapour, with the body to be plated sufficiently close to the tungsten to be heated to above ca. 700°C. The mechanism of the process is discussed. Practical techniques and applications are considered.
