高职院英语专业新生入学词汇水平研究

以南京工业职业技术学院2007级商务英语专业新生为研究对象,对高职大学生的英语词汇水平进行了多层次的实证研究。研究结果表明：英语专业新生的英语词汇水平总体不高,还不能达到教育部对高职院校英语专业学生的大纲词汇水平要求。研究结果还发现：女生的词汇水平显著高于男生,两个平行班级的词汇水平虽没有显著差异,但仍存在着一定的差别。由此得出并建议学校重新认识词汇教学的重要性,加强对学生的词汇教育,提高词汇教学水平。

Study on the English Vocabulary Proficiency of the English Freshmen of Vocational College

This paper reports a study of the college English vocabulary proficiency of the freshmen majoring in business English from our institute. The results show that the students＇ level of English vocabulary is low and hasn＇t reached the level of the requirements raised by the Education Administration. The results also point out that there is a big gap between the female and male students in vocabulary learning. There isn＇t a large gap between the sample two classes, but still some difference occurs. Therefore, the school authority has to realize the importance of English vocabulary teaching in order to improve the vocabulary teaching level.
