Anxiety and digit span performance in emotionally disturbed children.

Administered the Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale and a digit span task to 38 emotionally disturbed children in residential treatment. Results support the multidimensionality of trait anxiety, at least with emotionally disturbed children. The study also demonstrates the utility of identifying factors within an instrument and the importance of evaluating factor-specific scores.
