On the One-dimensional Nano-structured Tungsten Carbide

The research development of one-dimensional nano-structured tungsten carbide is reviewed.The production methods of one-dimensional nanostructured tungsten carbide,such as nano-tubes,nano-rods,nano-wires and nano-needles by catalytic chemical vapor deposition technique,thermal decomposition technique,magnetron sputtering technique,temperature-programmed reaction technique,eruptive heating technique,and shape memory technique respectively are systematically introduced.This paper summarizes the growth mechanisms and the problems involved in the existing synthesis methods.The research tendency is also forecasted.
