Abstract: | Comments on an article by R. S. Siegler and K. Crowley (see record 1991-27055-001) regarding the microgenetic method of studying cognitive development. The author argues that change alone does not capture the essence of development and that it is inappropriate to talk of the typical course of development because there is no consensus regarding what typically develops.
