Abstract: | ![]() A straightforward method is described for obtaining an asymptotic solution of the fields of a dipole over a stratified halfspace. The results are valid for surface impedances which are not necessarily small compared with the intrinsic impedance of free space. The form of the expansions illustrates the differences from the more conventional theory which is based on the assumption of a small surface impedance. |
