Considerations in the Application of Automatic Cell Planning

The study of automatic cell planning is one of hot-spots in the field of RF optimization in mobile communications. In this paper, a review on the theoretical basis and workflow of ACP algorithm is presented and analyzed thoroughly. The factors affecting the accuracy of the output schemes using ACP algorithm are emphasized. These factors, in-cluding methods of gathering DT data, the separa-tion of objective area, and the settings of initializa- tion and range of various parameters in the algo-rithms, are analyzed in practical CDMA optimization considerations. The modified ACP algorithm is vali-dated by the optimization results.
