Abstract:In this study, a novel experimental method by using the short-time microgravity condition created by the drop tower facility is proposed to investigate the dependence of dynamic contact angle on both the velocity and acceleration of contact line. The values of the dynamic contact angle with respect to different velocity and acceleration of contact line were determined under some different parameters. Our experimental results show that the dynamic contact angle depends not only on the velocity of the contact line but also its acceleration.
